Hey there! My name is Barbara Mann, and you could definitely say my roots run deep in south central South Dakota. I moved here when I was just a little one, and I am a 2009 graduate from Winner High School.
I started at KWYR in June of 2005 as a part time dj. My first "go-around" at KWYR ended in the end of 2008 as I was graduating in a few months and moving that summer. After graduation, I moved to Lewiston, Idaho, on the border of Washington State. I went to school at Lewis-Clark State College and worked at a radio station in Lewiston. It's definitely a fact that KWYR is the reason I discovered radio is my passion.
I should've known it was my passion though. My sister, Julie, and I used to "play" radio station when we were little for hours. Over the years, I've become known to be a little controlling over the music. Wheter at a party, in my car, or worse yet - someone els's car - I have this compulsive urge to control what is playing. Sometimes people are okay with this, and sometimes my hand gets slapped away from the dial. :)
I am currently earning my degree in business management at Sinte Gleska University in Mission, South Dakota. I work as an office specialist at Pamida and as of May 2011, I am back at KWYR! I couldn't be happier about that either - My shifts here are what I look forward to, and I have so much fun being here!
Let's spend our Sunday's together, you can catch me on FM 93.7 most Sunday evenings! |
