Hi, I'm Brittany Erickson. If you had told me a year and a half ago that I would be working at a radio station in Winner, I would have probably asked you "Where's Winner?"
I grew up in Dassel, Minnesota, which is about an hour west of the Twin Cities. I was, well I still am a PK (Pastor's Kid) and when dad said (After coming back from helping with Katrina relief for a year and a half) that we were moving to South Dakota, I wasn't exactly ecstatic. I mean who would want to go to a school for eleven years and then have to move away for Junior and Senior years?
But hey, I came! I didn't expect to get a job, and if I did I expected it to be in food serives (My last job was at my sister's coffee shop). Having a job at the radio station has definetely helped me become acquainted with the community. Well that and the fact that I became involved in FCCLA, Stage Fright, Oral Interp, Band, and Choir within weeks of starting school. I also made some great friends who helped explain the whole east river/west river thing. And let's not forget the siblings, with them critiquing my job on the air from as far away as Virginia!
You (and it seems my brother and sisters) can catch me on the weekends mostly on Magic 93! |
