We had little league baseball take place last night. The Lyman Rookies defeated Winner Gold by a final of 3-0. The Burke Minors beat Colome, 9-0. The Burke Rookies were able to hold off Colome, 1-0. The Burke Majors scored a 12-2 win over Colome last night. In Amateur Baseball, South Central was able to hold off Kimball/White Lake, 6-5. Mt. Vernon defeated Platte, 5-2. Hayden Kuiper had three hits for the Killer Tomatoes. Miller beat Chamberlain last night, 5-1. Zach Zimprich doubled and drove in a run for the Mallards.

Blood drives coming up in Bonesteel and Colome

We have a couple of blood drives coming up in June in South Central South Dakota. There will be a drive at the Colome Legion on Tuesday, June 13th from 1:30-5:30pm. To make an appointment call Vicki at 605-842-0270. Bonesteel will host a blood drive on Wednesday, June 14th from Noon to 5:15pm at the Bonesteel Community Center. To make an appointment call Laurie at 605-654-2831.

Judging Camp to be held in Brookings

The third annual South Dakota State University Youth Livestock Judging Camp will be held on the SDSU Campus in two sessions. Session one will be held June 4th through the 6th and session two will be held June 8th through the 10th. This is open to youth ages 8 to 18. Registration will close today (May 26th). Memorial Golf Tournament to be held next month in Gregory

There is an important, big date that you need to mark down on your calendars for the month of June! The tenth annual Gregory Golf Club Memorial Tournament will take place on Saturday, June 24th at the Gregory Golf Course. It is a two person scramble and is limited to the first 72 teams. To get your two person team signed up call the Clubhouse at 835-8134.

Winner City Pool to open next week!

The Winner City Pool is set to open to the public in seven days! Opening day is Thursday, June 1st. You can stop by the Winner City Office this week to get your passes for the summer. The pool will be open Monday’s through Saturday’s from 12noon to 7pm and on Sunday’s pool hours will be from noon to 5pm. The lifeguards and staff are looking forward to seeing you at the pool!

Seminar at the Tripp County 4-H Center today

Don’t forget that a customer service seminar will take place this afternoon. The free seminar will be held from 1-4pm at the 4-H Center in Winner. Dee Dee Rapp will speak on how great customer service can grow your business. This event seminar and is sponsored by SD Tourism, Tripp County and the Winner Area Chamber of Commerce.

Softball from Wednesday

Thanks to those who sent in softball scores from Wednesday Night! The Winner and Lyman 8 and under teams ended up tying. The Winner ten and under squad beat Lyman, 2-0. The Burke Royals beat Platte in a 12 and under doubleheader. Madelyn Cason pitched a no-hitter in the 7-0 game one victory. Game two, the Royals won, 19-1 as Adisyn Indahl was the winning pitcher. The Clearfield ten and under team fell to Gregory, 1-0. The 12 and under Clearfield girls tied with Gregory by a final of 9-9. In 18 and under softball, Winner beat Buntroc, 8-7 in game one. In game two, Winner fell to Jo Softball, 6-5.

Winner Regional to host Community Health Fair June 2nd

A community health fair will be held on Friday, June 2nd from 7:30am-1:30pm at Winner Regional Healthcare Center. There will be a free community breakfast to get things kicked off from 6:30-9:30am. There will be free and reduced cost health screenings- $20 for Lipid, Glucose and Hemoglobin, $5 for thyroid and $25 for Vitamin D. Sanford heart screens and vascular screens will be done from 7am-3:30pm and will be twenty five dollars. To schedule a screening call 842-7153.
