There will be a President’s Day Lasagna Dinner that will be served on Monday, February 18th at the Chamberlain High School Multi-Purpose Room. There will be two performances on Monday night at 5pm and 7pm. There will be performances by: River City Groove, CHS Jazz Band, River City Beat and there will be solo and group ensembles.
We have a couple of blood drives that will take place in two of our area towns on Monday, February 25th. The Burke Methodist Women will hold a community blood drive from 11am to 5:30pm at the Burke Civic Center. To make an appointment, call Vicki at 775-2374. Four different movies will be shown this weekend at the Pix Theatre in Winner! On Friday, February 16th, ‘Venom’ will be shown at 7:30pm. On Saturday, ‘Incredibles 2’ will be showing at 2pm. ‘Ready Player One’ will play at 7:30pm while ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ will play at 9:30pm. Stop by and enjoy the movies for a free will offering. The concession stand will be open too!
The Winner United Methodist Church will be holding their annual President’s Day Dinner on Monday, February 18th from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Take out meals will be available. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Winner True Value, Winner Gas, Mel’s Automotive, from Darrel and Barb DeSersa or from Tia and Dustin DeSersa.
The Blarney Commission once again will bring you the big St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Presho on Saturday, March 16th! The day will start off at 8am with a rummage sale at the American Lutheran Church. At 10am, registration will start up for the Shamrock Shuffle at Jet Lanes. At noon, the shuffle will start in front of Jet Lanes. At 12:30, Too Drunk To Fish will perform at Jet Lanes. Parade lineup will start at 1:40 at the corner of Main and Willow Street. The next RC&D meeting will be held on March 13th at the Bassett, Nebraska City Office meeting room. The meeting will start at 1:40pm. Community members throughout Brown, Keya Paha, Rock, Cherry, Boyd and Holt Counties are welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting.

A “kegs and corks” event will be coming to Gregory on Friday, February 15th beginning at 6:30pm at the Gregory Community Room. The Winner School Board members will gather for a meeting tonight. Meeting time is 7pm at the Administration building. Chamberlain School Board members have a meeting starting at 7pm tonight at the Chamberlain High School Library. Valentine School Board members have a meeting on Wednesday, February 13th, beginning at 5pm at Valentine High School.
The 1st annual Chamberlain Farm, Home and Sports Show will be held Friday, February 22nd through Sunday, February 24th at the Arrowhead Cedar Shore Resort in Oacoma. There will be many vendors from in and outside of the area. Seminars will be held each day from the Game Fish & Parks, Farmers Business Network and Farm Bureau Financial Services. Sanford will be doing heart screenings on Friday, the 22nd and Saturday, the 23rd.
