The Missouri River Archery Club will hold a 3D Archery Shoot on May 6th from 9am-4pm at Burke Lake. The cost of admission will be fifteen dollars a person and 24 dollars per family. Cubs ages ten and under get in for free. There will be 35 Rinehart targets on site and lunch will be served on the grounds. If you have questions call Roberta Spann at 830-0370.
The Michael Glynn Memorial Coalition is sponsoring a town hall meeting to discuss the meth and opioid epidemic this week. A meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 24th in the multipurpose room at White River Schools at 6:30. There will be another meeting on Wednesday, the 25th at the Norris Community Hall at 6:30 and on Thursday the 26th a meeting will be at the Wood Community Hall at 6:30. Refreshments and door prizes will be on site for all the meetings.

Five of our area high schools are ready for prom this weekend! Colome students will celebrate prom on Friday night. On Saturday, students at Ainsworth, Keya Paha County, White River and Todd County students will celebrate prom. We hope all prom goers have a fun and safe prom weekend!
Don’t forget on Friday night, a spaghetti feed fundraiser for the Winner girls softball players will take place at the Winner American Legion. Make plans to get out and support the girls as the event will be hosted by the 18 and under team. The girls have been hard at work indoors working on fundamentals in the offseason!
Here are a couple of reminders for events happening tonight: The annual meeting of Consumer’s Federal Credit Union in Gregory will take place tonight at the Gregory Auditorium Community Room. Supper will be served from 5:30 to 6:30. Also for tonight, the Winner Chamber of Commerce will hold a special meeting starting at 5:15pm at the Chamber Office on Main Street. This meeting is open to the public.

Lyman Kindergarten and Preschool screenings will be held at the Kennebec Gymnasium on Thursday, May 10th from 8:15am-Noon and from 1 to 3:30. A statewide tornado drill will be conducted for South Dakota by the National Weather Service between 10 and 10:30am next Wednesday, April 25th. Outdoor sirens will be sounded in many towns. The drill will interrupt out live broadcast. Be sure to use this drill to make plans to protect yourselves in the event of an impending storm.
A dinner and dance event will be held this Friday night, April 20th at the Dallas American Legion. Dinner will be served at 7 to kick things off followed by the dance. This is a fundraiser for improvements to be made on the Dallas Rodeo Arena. It will be a free will offering to get in and the funds will be matched by Modern Woodman of America.
