Chili feed to happen Thursday in Presho

The Families against Meth of Lyman County group will hold a chili feed at the Presho City Park this Thursday, September 21st running from 4-7pm. Come out and enjoy chili, chili dogs, games and activities for the entire family. All of the proceeds will go toward establishing a drug prevention program for the Lyman School District.

Big events coming up in Gregory

Tonight, Rosebud Electric Cooperative in Gregory will hold its annual meeting of their members beginning at 7:30pm at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium. There will be an election of three directors, great food and entertainment along with terrific door prizes! Later this month, the Fireball Run will be making a stop in Gregory County! Holiday Inn Express sold

The Holiday Inn Express of Winner has been sold from a local ownership group, Hospitality Plus LLC to Tripp 11 LLC, represented by Rikesh Patal of Vermillion, who owns several hotels. The deal was made final on Tuesday. The Holiday Inn Express was built in 2002 and has been owned by Hospitality Plus the entire time.

Bonesteel celebrating 125 years this weekend

Come help the town of Bonesteel celebrate 125 years this weekend as there will be fun for the entire family. Dustin Evans and the Good Times Band will be playing on Saturday night. There will be a huge fireworks display along with a 5k fun and walk, bean bag tournament and much more for the whole family. A few things going on for Thursday

Keep in mind that One Book South Dakota will hold a meeting tonight at 7pm in the upper level of the Tripp County Library in Winner.  The Burke Farmer’s Market will be hosting a free children’s garden activity at 5 this evening in conjunction with their market on Main Street. Murdo is holding a blood drive this morning and will run from 8-11:45am at the Murdo Senior Citizens Center. Tonight is the final showing of the movie, “All Saints” at the Pix Theatre in Winner. It is free popcorn night and the movie starts at 7:30.

Chamberlain reminders

Don’t forget that the River City Band Festival is coming up on Friday, October 6th in Chamberlain! The parade that day will start at 12:30 on Chamberlain’s Main Street. Something else to keep in mind if you are in Chamberlain, remember that the Silver Dollar Bar offers carry out for their noon meals. To make an order call 234-5461.

Wednesday reminders

Don’t forget that a couple of blood drives are going on in Central South Dakota today. A blood drive will start at 2:30 and run until 5 at the White River Sacred Heart Hall. Another blood drive is going on at the Geddes Legion Hall and will run from 12:30-5:30pm. If you have yet to see the movie “All Saints”, you have the chance to do so tonight at the Pix Theatre in Winner! The movie is rated PG and will begin at 7:30pm.

Pink Posse event set for October 7th

The 2017 Pink Posse Neon Walk/Run will be held on October 7th at the Winner Golf Course. Registration will take place at 5 and the race will be at 5:30 with a meal to follow. Registration includes a t-shirt, water bottle and meal. There will be a drawing for a quilt donated by the Haukaas family along with a Yeti cooler and a one night stay at the Holiday Inn in Pierre. Please come out and help support breast cancer.

Winner Class of '77 reunion dance to happen

The Winner High School Class of 1977 invites you to help them celebrate their 40th class reunion by attending their free all-class reunion dance on Friday, September 29th after the homecoming football game at St. Mary’s Hall in Winner. Doors will open at 8:30pm. Dance the night away to the sounds of Black Water from 9-1. There will be a cash bar provided by Sargent’s and a fundraising concession stand by the Spirit Gems. All honored classes, graduates and non graduates of Winner High School are welcome, but no one under the age of 21 will be admitted.
