Preview for the 9AA State Championship

Thursday morning, the Gregory Gorillas will battle the Webster Area Bearcats for the 9AA State Championship at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion at 10:30am! Seymour Studenburg and Chris Doski will provide the coverage on Magic 93. Both teams are unbeaten on the season. The Bearcats won their semi-final game on Saturday over Baltic, 38-28. Riley Reetz is Webster’s top running back in the stats column this year as he has ran for 1289 yards and is averaging almost eight yards per attempt. Kelby Hawkins leads the Bearcat defense this season as he has racked up six and a half sacks. The 11-0 Gorillas won 44-7 on Saturday over Stanley County to advance to the state championship. All four starting backs for Gregory are averaging at least four yards per rush this season. Quarterback Andy McCance has racked up seventeen touchdowns this season while teammate Jayd VanDerWerff has ran for twelve touchdowns.

Vikings Visit back on the air today

Chris Doski will be back with another edition of ‘Vikings Visit’ this afternoon on Country 1260, and tonight on 93.7FM. Chris and a local Minnesota Vikings fan will talk about Minnesota’s struggles over the last three weeks and see how maybe the Vikes can turn it around this month. Coverage from the Dome this week!

Chris Doski and Scott Schramm will provide you with coverage from the Dakota Dome in Vermillion this week as three Highway 18 Football teams will play for a state championship! On Thursday at 10:30am, Gregory will play for the 9AA title when they meet Webster Area. Coverage on Magic 93 will start around 9:50. Thursday night at 7:30, Colome will take on Langford Area for the 9B Championship. Pre-game with Doski and Dan Cahoy will start at 6:50. On Friday at 1pm, Winner will look to win their second consecutive 11B Championship when they take on Groton Area. Scott and Brett Gardner will have pre-game coverage starting at around 12:20.

Sweet 16 Volleyball to happen Thursday

Sweet 16 High School Volleyball will happen in South Dakota on Thursday as eight Class ‘A’ teams will punch their ticket to the State Tournament in Watertown for next week. Locally, Winner is the sixteen seed and will play against Dakota Valley at 7pm in Wagner. Winner was able to advance after knocking off Little Wound back on Saturday in Kyle. In Chamberlain on Thursday, St. Thomas More will play Madison at 6:30 at the Chamberlain Armory.
