Blood drives coming up this week in the area

Don’t forget there will be a blood drive taking place in Geddes this Wednesday, January 11th running from 1:30-6pm at the Geddes Legion Hall. There will be another blood drive coming up in the area on Wednesday. You can donate blood at the Presho Gymnasium from 8:45am-2:30pm. If you would like to make an appointment for the drive in Presho you can call Carol at 605-895-2662.

A few reminders for the week

Don’t forget that the Valentine School Board will meet tomorrow at Valentine High School starting at 5pm. The annual meeting of the Winner Community Playhouse will be held this Wednesday, January 11th beginning at 7:30 at the Playhouse. Later this week the Valentine City Council will meet on Thursday at 7pm in the meeting room of the Valentine Public Library.

A few meetings set for next week

Don’t forget that the Valentine School Board will meet next Tuesday, January 10th. Their meeting will begin at 5 at Valentine High School. The annual meeting of the Winner Community Playhouse will be held on Wednesday, January 11th beginning at 7:30 at the Playhouse. The Valentine City Council will gather next Thursday, January 12th. The meeting will get underway at 7pm in the meeting room of the Valentine Public Library.

Blood drives coming up in Murdo, White River and Winner

There will be a blood drive in White River on Monday, January 23rd from 1:45 to 5:30 at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. To make an appointment call Donna at 259-3372. There will be a blood drive in Murdo on Tuesday the 24th from 10am-12:30 at the Senior Citizens Center. To make an appointment call Lillian at 669-2172. A two day blood drive will happen on the 25th and 26th at the Holiday Inn Express in Winner. On the 25th the drive will run from Noon to 6pm, and on the 26th the drive will go from 7:30 to 11:30am.

Certification Class coming up in Winner

SDSU Extension will be hosting a private pesticide applicator certification class in Winner and in Pierre next Wednesday, January 11th at the SDSU Regional Extension Centers. The classes will begin at 2pm and run until 4pm. For more information on the classes call the Winner office at 842-1267 or the Pierre Office at 773-8120.

Hair Expressions holding a coats project

A Caring Coats Project is taking place in Chamberlain-Oacoma! The community is collecting gently used and new coats of all sizes, vests, gloves, scarves, mittens, hats and blankets right now. You can drop off those items at Hair Expressions. If you have a coat to give then please leave a coat. If you need a coat, then you are encouraged to take a coat. Meetings coming up in Chamberlain

There will be an informational meeting at the Chamberlain High School on Wednesday, January 4th for Middle School and High School Chorus and Band students at 5:30pm regarding an upcoming trip. Coming up on Thursday, January 26th, the Chamberlain Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual meeting at the AmericInn in Chamberlain from Noon to 1pm. They ask that you RSVP by January 20th by calling 234-4416.

Ainsworth to host a producers program this week

A Young Producer’s Program will be held at the Ainsworth Community Center thisThursday, January 5th. An optional workshop will start at 4pm that afternoon with the main event beginning at 5:15. If you are interested in attending please call the Farmer’s Ranchers Cooperative at 402-387-2811 and talk with either Matt or Bryce.
