Blood Drives coming up in the area this month

There will be a blood drive in White River on Monday, January 23rd from 1:45 to 5:30 at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. To make an appointment call Donna at 259-3372. There will be a blood drive in Murdo on Tuesday the 24th from 10am-12:30 at the Senior Citizens Center. To make an appointment call Lillian at 669-2172. A two day blood drive will happen on the 25th and 26th at the Holiday Inn Express in Winner. On the 25th the drive will run from Noon to 6pm, and on the 26th the drive will go from 7:30 to 11:30am.

Meetings coming up on Sunday

The Tripp County Historical Society members will gather for a meeting this Sunday, January 8th. The meeting will begin at 2pm at the Winner Senior Citizens Center. The Burke Walks group will host the “Step Up Your Walk” at the Civic Center this Sunday starting at 5pm. This walk will include the addition of a fun, interactive station. The walk is open to the public.

January meetings upcoming in the river city

There will be an informational meeting at the Chamberlain High School on Thursday, January 4th for Middle School and High School Chorus and Band students at 5:30pm regarding an upcoming trip. Coming up on Thursday, January 26th, the Chamberlain Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual meeting at the AmericInn in Chamberlain from Noon to 1pm. They ask that you RSVP by January 20th by calling 234-4416.

Caring Coats Project to run through the New Year in Chamberlain!

A Caring Coats Project is taking place in Chamberlain-Oacoma! The community is collecting gently used and new coats of all sizes, vests, gloves, scarves, mittens, hats and blankets right now. You can drop off those items at Hair Expressions. If you have a coat to give then please leave a coat. If you need a coat, then you are encouraged to take a coat. 'Moana' showing in Gregory and Winner

The Disney movie, ‘Moana’ is showing now at the Pix Theater in downtown Winner through Thursday, January 5th! Show times are 7:30pm Sunday through Thursday’s and at 7:30 and 9:30 on Friday and Saturday nights. Moana will also be showing at the Hipp Theatre in Gregory this Friday through Sunday. Shows in Gregory will start at 7:30.

Couple of Valentine reminders

We wanted to remind you about a couple of things that will be taking place in the heart city of Valentine in January. The Valentine School Board will meet on Tuesday, January 10th beginning at 5 at Valentine High School. The Valentine City Council will meet on Thursday, January 12th. Their meeting will begin at 7pm in the meeting room of the Valentine Public Library.

Young Producer's Program scheduled for January 5th

A Young Producer’s Program will be held at the Ainsworth Community Center on Thursday, January 5th. An optional workshop will start at 4pm that afternoon with the main event beginning at 5:15. If you are interested in attending please call the Farmer’s Ranchers Cooperative at 402-387-2811 and talk with either Matt or Bryce.

Private pesticide applicator class coming up

SDSU Extension will be hosting a private pesticide applicator certification class in Winner and in Pierre on Wednesday, January 11th at the SDSU Regional Extension Centers. The classes will begin at 2pm and run until 4pm. For more information on the classes call the Winner office at 842-1267 or the Pierre Office at 773-8120.

Blood Drive set for this week in White Lake

Don’t forget that the town of White Lake will be hosting a blood drive to end the month of December this week. Their blood drive will take place on Wednesday, December 28th from 2:30-6:15pm at the White Lake American Legion. To make an appointment for the blood drive you can call Connie at 249-2421.
