Gregory County reminders

We wanted to remind you about a couple of big events that are coming up later this month in Gregory County. On Monday, December 19th, the Gregory Elementary Concert will be held at the Gregory Auditorium starting at 7pm. The annual Dallas Firemen’s Dance will take place on Saturday, December 31st at the Dallas American Legion from 9pm to 1am! Jade Monkey will be playing that night too!

Coats Project going on at Hair Expressions

A Caring Coats Project is taking place in Chamberlain-Oacoma! The community is collecting gently used and new coats of all sizes, vests, gloves, scarves, mittens, hats and blankets right now. You can drop off those items at Hair Expressions. If you have a coat to give then please leave a coat. If you need a coat, then you are encouraged to take a coat. Sounds of Christmas coming up next week!

The Sounds of Christmas will be held on Wednesday, December 21st beginning at 7pm at the Winner Catholic Church. Come enjoy this event of sharing the gift of music! There will be a free will offering that will be given to the Ministerial Association. For more information or if you would like to participate you can contact the Methodist Church Office at 842-0854 or the Catholic Church Office at 842-3520.

Be apart of the Bell Ringing Campaign at Shopko!

The Salvation Army Winner Unit’s Bell Ringing Campaign is going on at Shopko in Winner! If your business, organization, church, family or youth group would like to participate call Bill Matousek at 842-9040. The Salvation Army Winner Unit is a project of the Winner Ministerial Association and the Winner Resource Center for families. Monetary donations can be made directly to the Salvation Army Unit 381, Box 585 in Winner.

A couple of reminders for this week

Don’t forget that the Platte Kindergarten through Fourth Grade students will perform their Christmas Program this Thursday! There will be two performances at 2pm and at 7pm at the High School Gym in Platte. Also, the Chamberlain High School Student Council will sponsor their annual Angel Tree at the Counselor’s Office at the High School. The deadline is this Friday. For more information you can call the School at 234-4467.

Food Distributions coming up in the area!

There will be commodity distribution held this Friday, December 16th for the Parmalee, Upper Cut Meat and He Dog at St. Agnes Church from 10am-2pm. Also, a commodity food distribution will be held for St. Francis/Two Strike/Spring Creek on Wednesday, December 21st from 10am-2pm at the St. Francis Community Center.

Couple of Blood Drives coming up

Keep in mind that a blood drive will take place this Wednesday, December 14th at the Burke Civic Center! That drive will run from 11am-5pm. To make an appointment call Sharla at 208-1751. White Lake will be hosting a blood drive at the end of the month. Their blood drive will take place on Wednesday, December 28th from 2:30-6:15 at the White Lake American Legion. To make an appointment call Connie at 249-2421.

Reminders for today

Don’t forget that Winner Area High School Trap will have an informational meeting take place tonight at the Rosebud Arrow, Rod and Gun Club in Winner. The meeting will begin at 7pm. If you have any questions in regards to this meeting you can call Tim Pravecek at 605-842-2040 or at 605-830-0220. Tonight, the Burke City Council will meet at 7pm in the Burke Municipal Building Meeting Room. Today, the Kennebec Elementary Concert will start at 2pm in the Kennebec Gym! The Lyman County School Board will meet at 7pm at their regular location in Presho.

You have the opportunity to take in some terrific Christmas Music this weekend in Central South Dakota! Remember that singing and treats will be apart of an open house at the Tripp County Courthouse tonight from 5:30-7:30! It is your chance to come see all of the Christmas Trees that are on display in the hallway! Tomorrow, there will be a Christmas Concert presented by the Johnson Strings at the Assembly of God Church in Winner at 7pm. Prior to the concert there will be a supper served from 5:30 to 7:00pm.
