3/13 The Gregory American Legion and Auxiliary District meeting that was scheduled for this Sunday has been postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, March 21st. Registration at 10:30am, meeting at 11am and lunch at 1pm.
3/13 An account has been set up for the family of Brett Oliver after his tragic accident to help with funeral arrangements. The account is at First Fidelity Bank in Gregory. Checks can be made out to Betty Stevicks. All funds go directly to the Oliver family.

2/10 Presho will celebrate its 43rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Saturday, March 28th. The Shamrock Shuffle 3 mile fun run will begin at noon at Jet Lanes on Main St, you can register up to two hours before it starts, and it includes a long-sleeve T-shirt. The parade will begin at 2:00 on Main St. No registration is needed to be in the parade and a Waterford Crystal trophy from Ireland will be awarded to the top float. Following the parade, the band Neo Johnsons will perform at Jet Lanes. You can also hear music on the bagpipes, drums and tin whistles and you can kiss a chip of the Blarney Stone!
2/10 South Dakota State University Extension will be hosting a Gardening Workshop on Tuesday, March 17 at the SDSU Extension Winner Regional Center from 6 -7pm. Gardeners in western South Dakota face a variety of growing challenges, including large daily temperature fluctuations, intense weather events such as high winds, hail, and early or late snowfall, and a limited number of freeze-free days. This workshop will equip gardeners of all experience levels with an understanding of crop physiology and practical, research-based strategies to optimize vegetable and fruit production for the upcoming season. Topics will include seed-starting, transplanting, soil fertility, varietal selection, irrigation requirements, protected cultivation, integrated pest management, and harvest strategies tailored to local environmental conditions. This one hour workshop will be offered in seven communities and is open to participants of all gardening skill levels. The class will be taught by Nick Volesky, SDSU Extension Horticulture and Specialty Crops Field Specialist based in Rapid City, Resources on gardening and horticultural topics will be available, and participants are encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussion to spark ideas within their communities.

Owner occupied is due back in the office on March 15th and Elderly Tax Freeze is due back on April 1st 2026.

10/23 Skatetowne in Colome will begin open skating sessions on November 2. Hours are from 2 o’clock to 4 o’clock every Sunday. The cost is three dollars per skater. Private parties can still be booked by calling Betsy Shippy 605-842-5621.
6/23 ROCS Dining Services in Winner is looking for volunteers to deliver meals to participants’ houses. This would be Monday through Friday and probably take an hour or so. (This could be a paid position if you qualify for the NICOA program.) This would be a great opportunity for businesses, church groups and other organizations to help the community.
