  • Harvest for Hunger Free Will Donation Lunch in Winner Tomorrow March 28, 2022
    CHS River Plains will host a Harvest for Hunger free will donation lunch in Winner, S.D. on tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the CHS Agronomy Warehouse. The lunch will consist of Burgers and Brats.  All proceeds will go to the local food pantry in Winner.
  • Area Proms Next Weekend March 27, 2022
    Several local area high schools will hold their proms on Saturday, April 2nd.   Area Schools celebrating this week are Keya Paha High School,  Ainsworth High School, and Platte-Geddes High School. KWYR News wishes all local area students a fun and safe prom next weekend.
  • Witten Volunteer Fire Department Soup Supper Tonight March 26, 2022
    The Witten Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their annual soup supper and pie auction this evening .  Serving will start at 5:30 p.m. and there will be an auction to follow with many items donated by the community.  This is a fundraiser in order to help raise funds for the fire department.
  • Track and Field from Friday March 26, 2022
    The Comet Classic Track and Field Invite was held Friday in Rapid City. Locally, Jones County’s Mallory Valburg claimed victory in the girls high jump. Jones County’s Emma Hunt finished runner up in the girls 100 meter hurdles. On the boys side, Jones County’s Chastin Tollakson was fifth overall in the long jump.
  • Girls All-State Basketball teams revealed March 25, 2022
    The South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association has released this season’s All-State Girls Basketball Teams. Locally, Winner’s Bella Swedlund made first team all-state in Class A.   • Winner/Colome Trap team to hold spaghetti fundraiser Tuesday March 24, 2022
    The Winner/Colome High School Trap Team invites everyone to their spaghetti feed supper on Tuesday, March 29th from 4:30 to 8pm at the Tripp County 4-H Center in Winner.
