Parade to happen in Rock County tomorrow

The Rock County Ag Society is taking entries for the parade on August 1st. This year’s theme is country fans and cattle brands. The parade route will be different due to the detour. The lineup will begin at the Fire Hall, and go down State Street, turn and go west in front of the Long Term Care, then across the highway and down the dirt road into the Fairgrounds, and will end at the grand stands.

Severe Weather Strikes Central South Dakota

What started out as a small chance of Severe Weather turned into a devastating storm for many in the KWYR listening area Monday night.   Severe Weather warnings were issued for many of our counties, and Tripp County was hard hit by Mother Nature on Monday night.  High winds, potential Twisters, heavy rain and hail overwhelmed Winner and the surrounding area.  Many residents and businesses suffered structural damage, along with downed Power Poles and lines, uprooted trees and extensive damage.   The bad weather wasn’t exclusive to Tripp County, as most of our Counties in Central South Dakota received Severe Weather Warnings.  The recovery has begun, and our goal is to keep the communities and listening audience informed, and help in any way we can.  The community as a whole will do the same, as it always does.
