Lynndi Kahler benefit set for August in Burke
A benefit for Lynndi Kahler will be held on Saturday, August 29th at the Burke VFW. A Meal will be served at 5pm, Silent Auction will go from 5-7pm and a live auction beginning at 7:30. For donations and benefit questions please contact Erin Schulte 605-830-5235 or Amber Linn 562-755-3415.
Results of the Frontier Days Rodeo
The 114th annual Frontier Days Rodeo wrapped up Sunday in White River. In steer wrestling, Carson Cooksley of Valentine finished in first place in a time of 6.4 seconds. In team roping, the team of Chad Hetzel and Jesse Dale were victorious in a time of 8 seconds. In ladies breakaway, Jacque Peterson of Isabel finished in first place in 2.8 seconds. In mixed team roping, Brooke Jameson and Lane Kennedy of Nebraska finished in first place in 9.2 seconds. In saddle bronc, Cooper West of Philip finished in first place with a score of 80. In senior men’s breakaway, Jeff Jones of Midland finished in first in 3.5 seconds. In bareback riding, Hunter Big Eagle of Harold finished in first place with a score of 76. In barrel racing, Gale Beebe of Custer was first in 17.73 seconds. In bull riding, Hazin Schmidt of White River was victorious with a score of 81. In calf roping, Bernard Girard of Alliance, Nebraska was first in a time of 10.6 seconds. In goat tying, Karissa Gotschall of Torrington, Wyoming was first in 8 seconds.
Blood Drive set for later this month in Winner
A two day community blood drive will take place at the Winner City Offices on Wednesday, July 22nd and Thursday, July 23rd. It will run from 10:15am to 3pm on the 22nd, and continue on the day of the 23rd from 1 to 5:30. It’s being sponsored by Winner Regional Health. To schedule an appointment, call Lyndsey at 842-7137.
Winner Fire Department to hold Poker Run on August 1st
The 14th annual Winner Fire Department Poker Run will happen on Saturday, August 1st! Registration will go from 11am to Noon at the Winner Fire Department. They will leave town at 12:30. Prizes will be awarded at the Pheasant Bar at 6:30pm. It’s just $25 per ride, or $40 for a couple. All forms of transportation are invited to take part.
CPR Class coming up July 22nd at Winner Regional
Winner Regional Health will be hosting a heartsaver cpr class on Wednesday, July 22nd. The class will run from 5:30 to 8pm. The cost is $25 to take part. You must pre-register in advance. You can do so by calling Beth Storms at 842-7193.
SDRA Rodeo set for next weekend in Geddes
The 10th annual SDRA Rodeo will take place in Geddes on Saturday, July 18th, and on Sunday, July 19th at the Geddes Rodeo Grounds. Performances will begin at 7pm both nights. There will be a candy scramble each night. Tickets will be $20 per person, ages ten and under get in for free, and advance tickets will not be sold. Cowboy Church will be held Sunday starting at 8am.
White River Fire Department to hold pancake feed on Saturday
The White River Volunteer Fire Department will hold a pancake feed this Saturday, July 11th. The feed will happen inside the EMS Building in White River from 6:30 to 10:30am. It’s all for a free will offering.

Benefit for Lynndi Kahler to happen this evening
A ride for Lynndi Kahler benefit play day will happen this evening at the Tripp County Rodeo Arena in Winner. A free will meal will be served at 5pm, followed by a play day beginning at 5:30. Barrels, poles, goats and flags will be the featured events. Kids up to the age of 18 are welcome to take part. There will also be a silent auction, and all entry fees will be donated to the Kahler family.
