Rodeo coming up in White River

The 113th annual White River Frontier Days will take place July 12th through the 14th at the Frontier Rodeo Arena. Friday, the rodeo will start at 7pm. Saturday, the parade will start at 11am, with the rodeo getting underway at 7pm. Sunday, slack will start at 10am. Mutton Bustin, Ranch Broncs and a candy scramble will be taking place as well.

Benefit for Pam Fritz to happen June 22nd in Winner

There will be a benefit for Pam Fritz on Saturday, June 22nd at the Black Lab in Winner. Pam’s brother with the Darren Beyer Band will be playing that night from 8 to midnight. A free will offering will be taken, and there will be a silent auction. A poker run will take place during the day as well. If you would like to donate an item for the auction, contact Mardi Pederson at 840-0084.

Health Fair going on today at Winner Regional

Winner Regional Health invites everyone to join them for their annual Health Fair today. There will be a free breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30am. Informative booths will be setup from 7:30 to 11am. There will be reduced cost screenings, along with a silent auction and more. Go to winnerregional.org for all the details.

Frontier Days coming up in White River

The 113th annual White River Frontier Days will take place July 12th through the 14th at the Frontier Rodeo Arena. Friday, the rodeo will start at 7pm. Election results from Tuesday

Local Primary Elections were held yesterday in our listening area.

In the Legislative Race for District 21 Republican State Senator, Mykala Voita received 1,842 votes while Erin Tobin received 1,794 votes. For District 21 Republican State Representative, two spots were available. Marty Overweg received 2,394 votes, Jim Halverson received 1,834 votes while Lee Qualm received 1,765 votes.

In Gregory County, for Precinct 2 Republican Committeewoman, Juli Anne Peppel received 143 votes while Erika Van Nieuwenhuyse received 137 votes. Gregory County residents also voted on Initiated Measure 1 – an initiated measure requiring an ordinance that eliminates the use of automated tabulating machines in Gregory County. There were 587 no votes and 509 yes votes.

In Charles Mix County for Republican County Commissioner, Kory Standy received 277 votes, David Spier received 214 votes, while Heath Knudson received 96 votes. Kory Standy was elected.

In Jones County for Republican Commissioner at Large, Steven Iwan received 118 votes, while Rodney Mann received 117 votes.

In Mellette County For Republican County Commissioner in District 3, Vernon Brown received 48 votes, while Dan Valburg received 46 votes.

In Tripp County for Republican County Commissioner in District 4, Joyce Kartak received 139 votes while Jeremy Clay received 97 votes. For Precinct Committeewoman in Lake Consolidated, Margie Wiley received 44 votes while Brenda Hofeldt received 22 votes. Tripp County residents also voted on an Initiated Measure defining the use of automatic tabulators within Tripp County. A vote yes would prohibit the use of automatic tabulating machines or systems to count or tabulate ballots for any election in Tripp County. There were 734 no votes, and 553 yes votes.

In Chamberlain there was an election for City Commissioner for a 3 year term. 2 spots were available. Ronnie Brown received 220 votes, Dan Hyland received 170 votes and Ron Madison received 114 votes. Kimball had a School Board member election for a 3 year term. 3 spots were available. James Hoing received 144 votes, Joshua Krier received 124 votes, Hillary Leiferman received 100 votes and Justin Blasius received 96 votes. Todd County had an election for School Board Members for a 2 year term. 2 seats were available. Michelle Allen received 222 votes, Amanda Riley received 218 votes while Linda Bordeaux received 193 votes.
