Education Fund deadline is Monday

The American Indian Education Fund is accepting applications for the 2016-2017 American Indian Education Fund Scholarship. A 2,000 dollar scholarship is offered to those students who are enrolled tribal members or descendent to a federally recognized American Indian Tribe, and must be enrolled as a full time student at an accredited college, university, tech or vocational school. The deadline is April 4th. Go to aiefprograms.org for more information.

Kindergarten screenings and roundup to take place

A kindergarten roundup will take place at Dakota Christian School next Thursday, April 7th from 10:45am-1:10pm. For more information call Camielle at 243-2211. Also, Kindergarten registration and screenings will be held at the Platte-Geddes Elementary School on Friday, April 8th from 8am-2:30. To make an appointment call 337-2468.

Taste of Winner set for Thursday

The Taste of Winner will be held this Thursday, March 31st at the Winner Bowling Center from 6-8pm. Categories will be appetizer, chili and dessert. There will also be a beef basket challenge sponsored by the Southern Belle Cattlewomen. $5 cost of admission for all you can eat.

A couple of reminders for tomorrow

There will be a blood drive in Murdo tomorrow from 2-6pm at the Murdo Senior Citizens Center. To make an appointment call Katie at 669-2258. Also, the Cherry County Board of Commissioners will meet tomorrow at 10am at the regular location in Valentine.

Easter Egg hunts in our area this weekend

We have plenty going on for the Easter weekend in Central South Dakota. There will be an Easter Egg Scramble tomorrow beginning at 11am at the Gregory City Auditorium. Winner Regional Healthcare Center will be having an Easter Egg Hunt tomorrow. The Easter Parade will begin at 2pm followed by the hunt. The egg hunt will take place at the Winner City Park. The rain location is the Winner Elementary Gym. There will also be pictures with the Easter Bunny! There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt held tomorrow at 1pm at Burke Lake. Pre-Schoolers through third graders are welcome. The hunt is being sponsored by the Burke Community.
