The Super Regional 4B Club Baseball Tournament will take place next Monday, May 22nd in Platte. Platte/Geddes was able to march on after last night’s win over Chamberlain. Winner/Colome will play Platte/Geddes in game two for the East Divison Championship at 5pm Monday evening. Coverage will be on Magic 93 starting at 4:30. Winner/Colome advanced after their win on Tuesday over Gregory County. Game one on Monday will start at 3pm as Lead/Deadwood will play either St. Thomas More or Hot Springs for the West Divison Championship. Game three will start at around 7pm for the region championship.

Baseball in Platte last night
In Region 4B Club Baseball last night in Platte, Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman defeated Todd County in eight innings by a final score of 4-3. Marc Schwenk had the game winning hit as he ripped a double that scored Cole Hickey. In game two, Platte/Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake/Corsica-Stickney defeated Chamberlain, 12-0. Blake Moke and Trevor Sprik combined to throw a no-hitter in the victory. Kory Peters, Riley Hoffman and Payton Foxley all scored runs in the win.
Royals defeat Gregory County
The Winner/Colome Royals defeated Gregory County in their Region 4B East Division semifinal game Tuesday to advance to the Super Regional Final Four Tournament next Monday in Platte. Ty Bolton drove in a couple of runs while Holden Thieman had two hits and an rbi. Riley Calhoon and Kameron Meiners also did damage at the plate as both guys knocked in runs as well. Bolton picked up the win on the mound as he went five innings and only allowed one hit. The Royals will now play Platte/Geddes for the division championship on Monday. The winner of that game will march on to the region championship the same night.

Golf from Monday
Pre-Region Golf was held at Hart Ranch in Rapid City yesterday as Region 6B teams were in action. On the boys side, Bison won the team title with 276 points. Locally, White River was fourth as they finished with 287 team points. Justice Morrison of White River finished first overall as he shot an 81. On the girls side, Hill City won the team title with 307 points. The White River girls came in fourth with 364 points. Individually, Josie Rush of Philip finished first by shooting a 40. Elsewhere Monday, the Vermillion Invite took place. Winner Area finished third overall as a team with a 363 score. Ronae Klein finished third with an 81, Liz Jankauskas was seventh with an 88 and Addy Root came in fourteenth by shooting a 92. Vermillion won the team title.

Sports reminders for today
Tripp County Flag Football signups will be held from 3:30-6pm today at the Winner Elementary School. The league is open to grades second through five for the 2017-2018 school year. Club Baseball from Saturday
The Winner/Colome Royals swept a doubleheader against Rapid City Post 320 on Saturday at Leahy Bowl. In game one, Riley Calhoon’s two run inside the park homerun in the sixth inning was the difference as the Royals edged the Shooters, 8-7. The Royals were down 7-6 when Riley lined a ball to center field when the Shooters center fielder diving attempt failed and rolled all the way to the warning track allowing Calhoon to speed around the bases for the go ahead run. In game two, Winner/Colome was able to get big hits all throughout the lineup, including big runs batted in by Jeremiah Yeamin and Calhoon. The Royals now wait to see who they play in their first round playoff matchup early next week. Stay tuned to kwyr.com for the details!
