Tune in for Coaches Corner tomorrow!

After taking a few weeks off, Coaches Corner will return on Country 1260AM this weekend! Doski will visit at least nineteen area winter sports coaches breaking down wrestling and boys and girls basketball! The program will begin at 9am on Country 1260 and will also be streamed online here at kwyr.com! Best of luck to all of our area winter sports teams this year!

A busy few days ahead for our area wrestling teams

The next few days will be filled with plenty of wrestling for our area teams. Tonight, a triangular will happen in Presho beginning at 6pm. Saturday, Burke/Gregory, Todd County, St. Francis and Lyman will all be competing at the Stanley County Invite in Fort Pierre. The Chamberlain wrestling team will make their way into Nebraska to compete in the O’Neill Invite on Saturday. The Winner Area wrestling team will kickoff their season this weekend when they head to the Kimball Invite on Saturday. Best of luck to all the wrestling teams in our area this weekend!

Winner Lady Warriors Gatorade Scrimmage to happen tomorrow

The Winner Lady Warrior Basketball team will host their annual Gatorade Scrimmage this Friday, December 2nd beginning at 6pm at the Winner National Guard Armory. A parent meeting will follow the action. The Lady Warriors will tipoff their season on Friday, December 9th in a doubleheader at Wagner. Good luck to Coach Larry Aaker and the Lady Warriors this season!

Elks Hoop Shoot coming up this weekend in Winner!

The Winner Elks Lodge #2084 will present the 2016 Elks Hoop Shoot this Saturday, December 3rd at the Winner Middile School Auditorium. Registration will begin at 1pm. The free throw contest is open to boys and girls ages 8-13. There will be trophies awarded in each age bracket to the top three finishers. Tune in for Husker Huddle on Thursday

Chris Doski will be back with another edition of ‘Husker Huddle’ this week on Country 1260 and 93.7FM! Chris and a local Big Red fan will look back at the regular season as a whole and talk about Nebraska’s finish to the season. The program will air at around 3:45 Thursday afternoon on Country 1260AM and at around 7:10 on Thursday night on 93.7FM.

The Sports Zone to return on Thursday!

After a two week hiatus, The Sports Zone with Chris Doski and Casey Hutmacher will be back to break down this week in the National Football League! The guys will break down each game and make their predictions. At the end of the show the guys will give away a Bud Light prize package to one lucky caller! The program will begin at 1:45 on Thursday afternoon on 93.7FM! We thank Casey for making his way over from the river city to make it all possible!

Vikings Visit returns tomorrow

Doski will be back with another edition of ‘Vikings Visit’ tomorrow on Country 1260 and 93.7FM! Chris and a local Minnesota Vikings fan will recap the Thanksgiving game with Detroit and look ahead to another big Thursday showdown this week as Minnesota will host the one loss Dallas Cowboys! The program tomorrow will air at around 3:45 tomorrow on Country 1260 and at around 7:10 tomorrow night on Magic 93.

UC Irvine wins Pentagon Showcase

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – Jaron Martin had 17 points and Eyassu Worku added a career-high 15 points as UC Irvine beat South Dakota State 63-52 in the Pentagon Showcase on Friday night.

Martin was 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. Jonathan Galloway added nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds for UC Irvine (3-2), which also beat South Dakota State 73-58 in the second game of the season.

The Anteaters had a 25-6 run late in the first half to go ahead 30-18 and took a 33-20 lead into the break. They pushed that to 53-37 with 3:41 remaining and coasted to the victory.

UCI limited the Jackrabbits to 14-of-55 (25.5 percent) shooting. The Anteaters converted 15 offensive rebounds into 16 second-chance points.

Mike Daum, who made 11 of 12 free throws, led South Dakota State (1-5) with 23 points and a career-high 18 rebounds. Reed Tellinghuisen added 11 points and A.J. Hess scored 10.
