Preview for the games we will be covering Friday night!

Two more high school football games will come your way on our airwaves tomorrow night! Scott and Brett will have the call on Country 1260 for the Winner at Cheyenne-Eagle Butte game. Pre-game coverage will start at 6:35 central. The Braves defeated Bennett County last week at home, 30-14. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte collected four total sacks to go along with an interception. Quarterback Harley Neigel went 9 of 12 through the air for 153 passing yards and two touchdowns. The Warriors were able to cruise to a 46-0 win in Mobridge last week. Cameron Kuil rushed for 97 yards,  Jayden Schroeder ran for 82 yards while Riley Calhoon ran for 78 yards. 385 of the 448 yards Winner had offensively came from the running game. On Magic 93 Friday, Doski will have the call for Colome at Gayville-Volin. Pre-game coverage will get underway at 6:35. The Raiders are coming off a 24-8 win over Burke/South Central. Quarterback Grant Rice scored all three of the touchdowns for Gayville/Volin and he rushed for 149 yards. Colome will look to bounce back after the loss to Corsica/Stickney on Friday, 16-14. Running Back Jackson Kinzer was solid as he rushed 16 times for 100 yards. Layton Thieman threw for 132 yards. The Cowboys beat Gayville/Volin at Fetzer Field last year, 26-22.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will kickoff their college football season this Saturday night when they host the Fresno State Bulldogs! Pre-game coverage on Country 1260 from Lincoln will start at 6:10 central with the Mike Riley Pre-Game Show as kickoff is slated for 7pm. We will have coverage of all the Nebraska games this season on 1260AM once again.

Four Pheasants named to the all-state amateur team

Four Winner/Colome Pheasant amateur baseball players were named to the all-state tournament team! Derek Graesser, Austin and Ryan Richey along with Reed Harter made the team. Former Winner/Colome standout Jared Donahue, who played for the Dell Rapids Mudcats, was also named to the all-state squad. Kimball/White Lake’s Brian Zeman and Platte-Geddes’ Richard Sternberg  made the all-state tournament team too!

Bowling meeting set for tomorrow

We just wanted to remind you that all bowlers are needed to attend the Winner USBC Bowling Association fall meeting on Thursday, September 1st beginning at 7:30pm at the Winner Bowling Center. They will be discussing the 2016-2017 bowling season next week. Please be sure you tell all your bowling buddies to attend the meeting!
