All bowlers are needed to attend the Winner USBC Bowling Association fall meeting on Thursday, September 1st beginning at 7:30pm at the Winner Bowling Center. They will be discussing the 2016-2017 bowling season next week. Please be sure you save the date and time and make it a point to attend the meeting at the Bowling Center!

The Winner Cheer and Dance squad will get their season underway this Saturday! The girls will be competing in the Gregory Invitational on August 27th starting at 11am.  Local teams from Platte/Geddes, Winner and Gregory will be in action this weekend! The girls will then get ready for the big Winner Invitational that is set for Saturday, September 10th.  Best of luck to all the girls for the 2016 cheer and dance season! There will be a dodgeball fundraiser tournament that will take place on Saturday, September 3rd starting at 5:30 at the Winner Middle School. Up to six people will be allowed on each team and the tournament is open to anyone interested in playing. There is a sixty dollar entry fee. All of the proceeds will go to Kelly Kidwiler and his family as his dad, Kevin, battles cancer. To sign up or for more information you can call Tawny at 840-2140 or Kelsey at 208-1041.

It was a busy weekend for golf in Tripp and Gregory Counties. At the Bill’s Bar Tournament in Burke, JJ Beck and Jon Bakke won the tournament as they shot a 66. The Bankwest/Buche Foods Club/Handicap Tournament happened on Saturday in Gregory. George Johnson was the club champion while Bart Birkeland was the handicap champion. The two day member guest tournament came to a close on Sunday at the Winner Country Club.  Rich Crow Eagle and Eric Sazue ended up winning the tournament.

The opening night of the South Dakota High School Football season is this Friday! Chris and Scott will provide you with coverage from Burke and Mobridge. On Magic 93, Doski will have the call for the Gayville-Volin at Burke/South Central game. Pre-game coverage will begin at 7:05. On Country 1260, Scott will provide the coverage of the Winner at Mobridge-Pollock contest. His pre-game will start at 7:05.

The Minnesota Vikings are now 2-0 this pre-season after defeating the Seattle Seahawks on the road last night, 18-11. Marcus Sherels returned an interception 53 yards for a touchdown with less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Major League Baseball last night, Alex Gordon smacked a grand slam as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Minnesota Twins, 8-1 in the first matchup of a four game series.

Mud Races will be taking place in Fort Thompson this Saturday, August 20th starting at 1pm at the Mud Run Arena! Trucks need to be checked in by noon on race day.
