The Chamberlain boys golf team is competing in Rapid City for the two day, St. Thomas More Invite. On day one yesterday, Danny Sazue ended up shooting a 78, Adam Hutmacher carded a 79, Tiegen Priebe shot an 82, Cameron Caldwell finished with a 90 while Drayton Priebe carded a 100. The action will resume today at the Hart Ranch Golf Course.

A busy weekend of golf lies ahead in Gregory and Tripp Counties! Saturday, a club handicap and scratch golf tournament will take place at the Gregory Golf Course. It will be an eighteen hole tournament and it starts at 1pm. Bankwest and Buche Foods will be sponsoring the tournament. The fifth annual Bill’s Bar two person scramble is set for Saturday at the Burke Golf Course. The tournament will get underway at 1pm. To get a team signed up call 775-9190. The two day Member Guest Tournament will get underway Saturday at the Winner Country Club. Members don’t forget to be apart of a fun weekend with a guest golfer! The Missouri River Archery Club will hold a 3D Archery Shoot this Sunday, August 21st from 9am-4pm. The shoot will happen at the Archery Range a mile and a half north of Burke. The cost is fifteen dollars per person and twenty five dollars per family. Lunch will be served on the grounds. If you have questions you can call Roberta at 830-0370.

Don’t forget that the Bowling Dome in Chamberlain will hold a men’s league meeting this week. That meeting will happen on Thursday, August 18th starting at 8pm. This Saturday, August 20th, there will be a Club Handicap and Scratch Golf Tournament that will happen at the Gregory Golf Course with a 1pm start time. It will be an eighteen hole tournament this weekend. It is being sponsored by Bankwest and Buche Foods.

There will be a dodgeball fundraiser tournament that will take place on Saturday, September 3rd starting at 5:30 at the Winner Middle School. Up to six people will be allowed on each team and the tournament is open to anyone interested in playing. There is a sixty dollar entry fee. The Alexandria Angels won the Class ‘B’ State Amateur Baseball Tournament yesterday at Cadwell Park in Mitchell as they defeated Garretson, 7-1. The Angels never trailed and received good pitching on the mound from Tyson Gau, who went the distance and struck out five. Gau was named the tournament’s most valuable player as he did damage both on the mound and at the plate.
