Business Appreciation Night coming up this weekend in Kennebec

Don’t forget that the annual business appreciation night of Kennebec T&C will be held this weekend! The event will happen on Saturday, March 4th from 5-7pm at the Kennebec Gym. Reminders for the week

We wanted to send a few reminders your way for the week. The Farmer/Rancher Coop annual meeting will be held tomorrow at the Community Hall in Johnstown beginning with a meal at 5:30. Trinity Episcopal Church in Winner will hold their 59th annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper tomorrow night from 5-7! Carry out will be available. Advanced tickets can be purchased today at Kucera Electric, DB’s Bait and Tackle or at Mel’s Automotive. Don’t forget a Dinner Theatre will be happening this Friday at the Dallas American Legion! Proceeds will go to the Hilltop Drive-Inn projection fund. Get advanced tickets at Bankwest, First Fidelity Bank or at Frank Days.

A few weekend reminders

Tonight the Mid Missouri River Prescribed Burn Association will celebrate it’s one year anniversary with an annual meeting at the Community Room in Bonesteel! The meeting will begin at 5pm. Tomorrow, the 25th annual Cattlemen’s Ball will happen at the Platte Community Center beginning at 6 with a social hour. Showing this weekend at the Hipp Theatre in Gregory is the movie “The Founder”. Show times Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be at 7:30pm.

Meetings coming up in Nebraska

The Farmer/Rancher Coop annual meeting will be held at the Brown County Community Hall in Johnstown, Nebraska on Tuesday, February 28th. Meal will be served at 5:30 to get things underway. Coming up on Monday, March 6th, the Valentine Planning Commission will meet at 7pm at the Valentine Library Meeting Room.

Couple of big events coming up March 4th

A couple of big events will be happening in Central South Dakota on Saturday, March 4th: The Supermarket Sweep will be held on the 4th at the Chamberlain Food Center! The event is being sponsored in part by Great Western Bank and is a fundraiser for the post prom party in Chamberlain. Also coming up on Saturday the 4th is Gregory’s Farm and Home Show! That event will be held at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium from 10am to 5pm. Come checkout many terrific vendors!

You can register for a free one hour Teach South Dakota Class that is scheduled for every Friday afternoon from 1-2pm at Grossenburg Implement in Winner! Scholarship applications available now!

Just a reminder that the 2017-2018 American Indian Education Fund Scholarship applications for undergraduate and graduate students are now available online. Go to aiefprogram.org for more information. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is April 4th, but if they are received before March 1st an extra point will be awarded towards your score!

Tax Seminars coming up next month in Winner

A couple of sales tax seminars will take place on Thursday, March 16th at the Holiday Inn Express Conference Room in Winner. A sales tax meeting will take place from 9am to noon and will cover topics such as how and when to apply for a tax license, exemptions from sales and use taxes, use tax, municipal taxes among a variety of other topics. There will be a seminar from 1 to 4 that day that will focus on contractor’s excise tax. The workshop will covers topics such as how and when to apply for a contractors’ excise tax license, projects for qualifying utilities and governmental agencies, sales and use tax among other topics. ESA Paint and Pour event coming up in Winner!

ESA Beta Alpha’s 2nd annual Paint and Pour to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be held on Saturday, March 4th starting at 1pm at the Winner American Legion. There will be a penny raffle to benefit the Wesson Littau Foundation. Registration forms can be picked up at the Legion, This N’ That, from Rachel at the Winner City Office or online at sodakesa.org.
