We wanted to remind you that Bonesteel’s fall tradition “Powder River”, a local cowboy show, play/party in celebration of veterans and our local American legion will be held this Saturday, November 12th at the Bonesteel American Legion. Show time will be at 8pm with a dance to take place from 9pm-1am. There will be a costume contest and concessions will be available. Come join the fun of Powder River!

Blood drives coming up next week
Murdo will be holding a blood drive next Tuesday, November 8th from 2-4:45pm at the Jones County High School. To make an appointment call Katie at 222-7785. Another blood drive will take place next Wednesday, November 9th from 8:30am-2pm at the Ben Reifel Auditorium in Mission. To make an appointment call Diane at 856-3503.
Caring Coats Project going on in Chamberlain
A Caring Coats Project is underway in Chamberlain-Oacoma! The community is collecting gently used and new coats of all sizes, vests, gloves, scarves, mittens, hats and blankets right now. You can drop off those items at Hair Expressions. If you have a coat, leave a coat. If you need a coat, then you are encouraged to take a coat. For more information you can call 605- 234-6884.

Donate hygiene products in Winner tonight!
The HOSA team at Winner High School is asking for donations of hygiene products to be distributed throughout the local area. Collection boxes are located in the lobby of the Winner Armory at home games and in Mr. Olson’s room. Recommended items include, but not limited to: toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, mouthwash and floss.
Valentine reminders for next week
We wanted to remind you about a couple of things that will take place in the heart city of Valentine next week. There will be a free farm ranch clinic on Tuesday, November 8th. This clinic gives farmers and ranchers a chance to meet with ag law attorneys and ag financial counselors. To signup call 800-464-0258. Also next Tuesday, the Valentine School Board will meet at 5pm at the Valentine High School.
Details on a couple of Veterans Day programs
There will be a Veterans Day program on Thursday, November 10th starting at 2:30pm at the White River Community Events Center next week. All veterans and community members are encouraged to attend. A Veterans Day Program will also be held on November 10th at the Winner Armory. The American Legion and Auxiliary will be hosting a soup luncheon at the Winner American Legion after the program. All veterans and spouses are welcome to attend.
Craft and Trade Show set for this weekend in Mission!
A Changing Color craft and trade show will be held this Saturday, November 5th from 9am-3pm at the Todd County Fairgrounds in Mission! If you are interested in having a vendor at the event you can contact Genna at 308-530-3171. The craft and trade show is being sponsored by the Todd County Community Club. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Todd County Community Club’s Scholarship fund.
Wreath project going on in Winner
The Winner VFW Auxiliary holiday wreath project is underway! You can purchase live wreaths for home decorations, gifts, business and cemeteries. All of the proceeds will support veterans and their families. The order deadline is Monday, November 14th. To order you can call Sandy at 605-840-4961, Connie at 840-9333 or Rosemary at 842-2127.
Halloween reminders
We have numerous Halloween activities set to happen today and tonight! Golden Prairie Manor in Winner will hold their Parade of Spooks today from 3-5pm. The event is open to kids ages 0-12 wearing costumes. There will be a trunk or treat at the Gregory Football Field parking lot this evening from 4-5:30 before the football game. A trunk or treat will be held from 4:30-6pm on Main Street in Presho. A treasure or treat will take place at the Winner Community Church from 5-7pm. Stop by for a treasure or a treat! Trick or treaters are welcome to stop by the Rose Manor in Colome from 3-6 too! There will also be a trunk or treat event starting at 5pm this evening at the Chamberlain Swimming Pool parking lot.
