Blood drives in Bonesteel and Colome this week

We wanted to remind you about a couple of blood drives that are taking place in our area this week. A blood drive will be held this afternoon in Colome from 2-5:15pm at the Colome American Legion. To make an appointment call Vicki at 605-842-0270. A blood drive will happen at the Bonesteel Community Center tomorrow. The blood drive will run from 7:30am-Noon. To make an appointment for the drive in Bonesteel you can call Dennis at 605-654-2202.

Department of Revenue office hours for November

The South Dakota Department of Revenue will host office hours in Gregory next month to assist taxpayers. The office is located at the Gregory City Hall. Taxpayers may visit the remote office for assistance with completing tax returns, obtaining a sales tax license and general questions. Office hours will be from 10:30am-2:30pm on November 8th and December 13th. Appointments can be made by calling 605- 668-2939.

Caring Coats Project underway in the river city

Caring Coats Project is underway in Chamberlain-Oacoma. The community is collecting gently used and new coats of all sizes, vests, gloves, scarves, mittens, hats and blankets right now. You can drop off items at Hair Expressions. If you have a coat, leave a coat. If you need a coat, take a coat. For more information you can call 605- 234-6884.

A few weekend reminders

A fundraiser will be held at the Kimball Legion Hall on Saturday beginning with a happy hour at 5:30. There will be a silent auction and appetizers will be served at 6:30. A live auction and gun raffle will start at 8pm. All of the proceeds will go toward the purchase of playground equipment at the Kimball School. Uncle Roy and the Boys will take the stage this Saturday night at Carlock Dance Hall! They will play your favorite tunes from 8 to midnight. Cody Hullinger will take the stage Friday night at Gregory Lanes! He will play your favorite country music from 9 to closing.

Wreath project underway in Tripp County

The Winner VFW Auxiliary holiday wreath project is underway! You can purchase live wreaths for home decorations, gifts, business and cemeteries. All of the proceeds will support veterans and their families. The order deadline is November 14th. To order you can call Sandy at 605-840-4961, Connie at 840-9333 or Rosemary at 842-2127.

Blood drives coming up next week

A few blood drives will take place next week. A drive will be held on the 24th from 12:30-5:30pm at the Grace Bible Church Fellowship Hall in Gettysburg. A blood drive will be held next Tuesday the 25th from 2-5:15pm at the Colome American Legion. To make an appointment call Vicki at 842-0270. Harvest dinner and auction to happen tomorrow

The Springview United Methodist Church will hold their annual harvest dinner and auction tomorrow from 5-7pm at the High School Gym in Springview! Bring a big appetite as they will be serving the full Thanksgiving feast and an auction will be held at 7pm with homemade treats, gift baskets, toys, plants and more. Please plan to attend this big event!

HOSA team asking for donations in Winner

The HOSA team at Winner High School is asking for donations of hygiene products to be distributed throughout the local area. Collection boxes are located in the lobby of the Winner Armory at home games and in Mr. Olson’s room. Recommended items include, but not limited to: toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, mouthwash and floss.

Technical Education meeting set for tomorrow

There will be a technical education public meeting that will take place on Wednesday, October 19th from Noon-1pm tomorrow at the Tripp County Courthouse Community Room in Winner. Technical education services and processes will be discussed by John Svatos, General Manager of the Regional Technical Education Center in Yankton. Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting.
