A couple of reminders for today

The Chamberlain Nightengales will gather tonight. Their meeting will start at 6pm at the Chamberlain Country Club. Also, the Tripp County Historical Society will be holding a soup and pie supper this evening at the Winner American Legion from 5-7:30pm. A free will offering will be taken at the event and everyone is more than welcome to attend.

Reception for Judge Trandahl to happen Friday

There will be a reception in honor of Judge Kathleen Trandahl this Friday, October 7th from 2-4pm at the main courtroom of the Tripp County Courthouse. There will also be food and refreshments from 6-8pm at the Holiday Inn Express in Winner. Everyone is welcome to attend and congratulate Judge Trandahl on her 22 years of service!

Weekend reminders

We wanted to send a few reminders your way as you get set to plan your weekend in the area. This weekend is the last of the season for the Chamberlain Farmers Market. Stop by on Saturday between 8am and Noon at the parking lot of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Also on Saturday, the Flying D Fall Ladies Day Out will take place from 9am to 3pm at Skatetown in Colome! There will be over 30 vendors on site. Sunday, there will be a public meeting in Winner to discuss hands-on technical education from 2-4pm at the Tripp County 4-H Center. The purpose is to discuss, plan and develop a regional hands-on technical education program. Sunday night, the Winner Catholic Church will hold their annual fall festival and homemade turkey dinner at St. Mary’s Hall! Serving will happen from 5-7pm.

Annual meeting coming up in Presho next week

Mark your calendars! The annual meeting of West Central Electric will be held next week. The meeting is scheduled for next  Wednesday, October 5th at the Presho Auditorium. Registration will begin at 4pm and the meeting starts at 5pm. Be sure you bring an appetite as a free roast beef dinner will be served starting at 6pm on Wednesday night!

Open House coming up in Burke on October 9th

We want to let you know that the Burke Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will be holding an open house on Sunday, October 9th from 10am-4pm in Burke! You can come checkout the demonstrations and various skills of the firefighters! Stop by and enjoy lunch on them as hot dogs, beans, and chips will be served to the public.

Winding down the season for farmers markets

We encourage you to checkout our area farmers markets before they close their doors for the season! The Burke Farmers Market will open on Main Street today from 4-6pm. Saturday, the Chamberlain Farmers Market will be open for the final day of the season. Stop by the Trinity Lutheran Church between 8am and noon as things will be setup out in the parking lot. Support our area farmers markets this week!

News on a meeting and event for the weekend

Be sure you make plans to attend the Flying D Fall Ladies Day Out that is set for this Saturday, October 1st from 9am to 3pm at Skatetown in Colome! There will be over 30 vendors on site and a lunch stand and bake sale will be there too! This Sunday, there will be a public meeting to discuss hands-on technical education from 2-4pm at the Tripp County 4-H Center in Winner. Homecoming week for five of our schools!

It is homecoming week for five of our area schools this week! Students at Kimball, Valentine, Burke, Lyman and Chamberlain are celebrating homecoming for the rest of this week. We hope you have a fun and safe time. Remember we will have coverage of one homecoming high school football game this Friday as the Chamberlain Cubs will host Todd County. Pre-game coverage on Magic 93 will start at around 6:30.

Wellmark Grants Program is back
