Presho and Chamberlain reminders

Keep in mind that Presho’s Citywide cleanup will be held this Saturday, September 24th. There will be no charge to city residents. It is being sponsored by the Presho Chamber. The Staff of Senator Mike Rounds will be in Chamberlain next Tuesday, September 27th from 9am to 11am. He will be at the Chamberlain Community Center.

Homecoming news in Winner

Winner High School’s Homecoming Coronation will be held this Thursday, September 22nd beginning at 7:30pm at the Armory. Any alumni reunions that need reserved seating for their class need to call Mona at 842-8125. Winner’s Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, the 23rd at 2pm. Anyone wishing to have a float in the parade need to call Mona as soon as possible. This year’s theme is “What’s Up”.

Blood Drives coming up in the area

There will be a blood drive in Presho on Wednesday, September 21st from 12:30-6:00pm at the Methodist Church. A two day blood drive will be held at the Winner American Legion on September 28th and the 29th. On Wednesday the 28th, the drive will run from Noon-6pm. On Thursday the 29th, the blood drive will run from 7:30am-12:30pm. To make an appointment you can call Herbie at 605-842-1708.

Department of Revenue news

The South Dakota Department of Revenue will host office hours in Gregory to assist taxpayers. The office is located at the Gregory City Hall. Taxpayers may visit the remote office for assistance with completing tax returns, obtaining a sales tax license and general questions. Office hours will be from 10:30am-2:30pm on October 11th, November 8th and December 13th. Appointments can be made by calling 668-2939.

A few reminders for the weekend

Don’t forget the Dallas Daze Tractor and Pickup Pull will be held tomorrow in Dallas! Start time is 11am. Cherry Todd Electric will hold their annual meeting of its members tomorrow at the Ben Reifel Auditorium in Mission starting at 10am. Carlock Dance Hall will be holding a free wedding dance for Chris and Brenda tomorrow night! The dance will take place from 8pm to midnight.

Annual meetings coming up in the area

Cherry Todd Electric will hold their annual meeting of its members on Saturday, September 17th at the Ben Reifel Auditorium in Mission. Registration will begin at 9am and the business meeting starts at 10am. There will be refreshments and door prizes for all who attend. Monday, Rosebud Electric Cooperative will hold their annual meeting on Monday, September 19th! Doors will open at 7pm and the meeting gets underway at 7:30 at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium. There will be over 40 door prizes and registration gifts.

Reminders for today

Dakota Christian Schools will be holding their annual fundraising auction this evening! The auction will get underway at 5:30 at the Dakota Christian Gym. Come out and enjoy some great food, fun and fellowship! A hunt safe course will continue tonight at the Platte Fire Hall from 6-9pm. The course will resume on Saturday from 8am-noon.

Annual meeting coming up in Gregory

Be sure to mark on your calendars Monday, September 19th as the date for the annual meeting of Rosebud Electric in Gregory! The meeting will begin at 7:30pm on Monday night at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium. Doors will open at 7pm. There will be some great entertainment to follow the big meeting.

Head to the Burke Farmers Market tomorrow

The Burke Farmers Market will re-open this Thursday on Main Street! The market will be open from 4-6pm each and every Thursday through early October. The Chamberlain Farmers Market will be back open this Saturday from 8am-noon in the parking lot of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chamberlain.
