Hunt Safe Course happening in Platte this week

There will be a hunt safe course that will take place in Platte this week. The course will run September 13th through the 15th from 6-9pm, and on September 17th from 8am-noon at the Platte Fire Hall. Students that turn twelve by the end of the year are eligible. To register or if you would like more information you can call Officer Martin at 730-1575.

Celebration week at Community Connections

Community Connections, INC.  is celebrating their direct support professionals all of this week! Direct support professionals are persons who assist an individual with a disability to lead a self-directed life and contribute to the community. They also act as an advocate for disable individuals. Come help them celebrate all week long at Community Connections!

Pink Flamingo event set for this weekend!

The 2016 Pink Flamingo will be held this Saturday, September 17th starting at 5:30pm at St. Mary’s Hall in Winner! You can come take part in “canvasing a cure” ladies night out. Those that will be attending will enjoy an evening of friends, fellowship and food. A silent auction and raffle items will be apart of the event. To reserve a spot you can contact Ann at 842-2163. The event is limited to 120 participants.

Gregory Department of Revenue information

The South Dakota Department of Revenue will host office hours in Gregory to assist taxpayers. The office is located at the Gregory City Hall. Taxpayers may visit the remote office for assistance with completing tax returns, obtaining a sales tax license and general questions. Office hours will be from 10:30am-2:30pm on September 13th, October 11th, November 8th and December 13th. Appointments can be made by calling 668-2939.

Homecoming information

Winner High School’s Homecoming Coronation will be held on Thursday, September 22nd starting at 7:30pm at the Winner National Guard Armory! Any alumni reunions that will need reserved seating for their class need to contact Mona Lacompte at 842-8125. Winner’s Homecoming is set for Friday, September the 23rd.

A couple of Winner reminders

Southern Plains Behavioral Health Services will hold their 44th annual meeting on Tuesday, September 13th starting at 7pm at Sargent’s in Winner. A blood drive is coming up later this month in Winner. On Wednesday, the 28th, from noon-6pm it will take place at the Winner American Legion. On Thursday, the 29th, the drive will be back at the Legion running from 7:30am-12:30pm. To make an appointment call Herbie at 842-1708.

Harvest Festival set for Saturday in Gregory

The annual Gregory/Dallas Area Chamber of Commerce’s Harvest Festival and Soup Tasting Contest is set to take place this Saturday, September 9th at the Gregory City Park beginning at 5pm! There will be fun activities taking place for the entire family to enjoy! Free will donations will be taken at the event. If you want to stop by a few hours before the event, there will be Arts in the Park going on the same day too beginning at 2pm, and they are still accepting vendors for Arts in the Park.

Joint Screenings happening today

A joint screening for families with children ages three to five will be held today at the Colome School. This screening is to make you aware of development milestones that your child has mastered. Another  joint screening for families with children ages three to five will be held at the Burke Community Building today.
