Give the gift of life this week!

There are a good number of blood drives that will take place this week. A blood drive will happen in Corsica tomorrow from Noon-3:30 at the Dakota Christian High School. Also on Wednesday, a blood drive will take place in Highmore from Noon-5:30 at the Auditorium. Colome will hold a blood drive this Thursday, September 8th from 9:45am-12:30pm at the Grass Ranch Colony.

Lunch & Learn this Wednesday in Winner

You are invited to come join the folks at Winner Regional Healthcare Center for a lunch and learn event on Wednesday, September 7th! The event will run from noon-1pm at the Long Term Care Chapel. You have the chance to get expert advice on vascular disease with Specialty Provider, Dr. Angelo Santos. This will be a free event with a light lunch provided. Reservations are required as the class size is limited. To signup call 842-7212.

Labor Day reminders

Don’t forget that one hour before and one hour after the Labor Day parade, a kids helping kids cookie sale will take place at the Winner Food Center! Funds raised will go toward the Wesson Littau Foundation. Also, Heartland Waste Garbage Pickup that was to happen in Winner today, the pickup will now happen on Thursday, September 8th. The Chamberlain Nightengales will meet this evening at 6pm at the Chamberlain Country Club.

Burke Farmers Market open on Thursday's

The Burke Farmers Market will re-open this Thursday on Main Street! The market will be open from 4-6pm each and every Thursday through early October. The Chamberlain Farmers Market will be back open this Saturday from 8am-noon in the parking lot of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chamberlain. The market is open through October 1st each and every Saturday. For more information you can call Teal at 605-682-9377. The market is sponsored by the South Dakota Department of Agriculture.

A few reminders for next week

The Chamberlain Nightengales will meet on Monday, September 5th next week. The meeting starts at 6pm at the Chamberlain Country Club. The Valentine City Council will meet on Thursday, September 8th starting at 7pm in the meeting room of the Valentine Public Library. Also, coming up a week from Saturday is the big annual Harvest Festival and Soup Tasting at the Gregory City Park on September 10th! Things will get underway at 5pm.

Colome to hold joint screenings soon

A joint screening for families with children ages three to five will be held next Wednesday, September 7th at the Colome School. This screening is to make you aware of development milestones that your child has mastered. To register for the screening you can call the school at 842-1624. Keep in mind that you have until the end of today to get registered.

MBBA Finale set for tomorrow!

The 2016 MBBA Bull Finale is set for Friday, September 2nd at the Randy Shippy Ranch Arena, four miles south of Colome! Futurity will begin at 10am tomorrow morning and admission is a free will offering. Come watch the top riders go head-to- head with the best bucking bulls for champion buckles and a share of $70,000 in prize money! Concessions will be provided on the grounds and it will be a great time for the entire family. Tehrani Motors will be sponsoring the big event so make plans now to attend!
