Reminders for today
The fourth annual Platte-Geddes FFA Barnyard Olympics will take place tonight at the Platte Livestock Auction beginning at 7pm! Stop on by for the annual event as a hamburger and hot dog supper will be served! Also, there will be a blood drive in Kimball from Noon-5:30 at the Catholic Church. Winner Middle School orientation for students entering grades 6-8 will be held this Thursday, August 18th starting at 6pm at the Winner Armory. Students will receive schedules and other information during the meeting. Students and parents will also be able to visit classrooms and check out lockers. Any questions call the office at 842-8125.
Movies at the Drive-In Theatres!
Showing at the Winner Drive-In Theatre Friday through Monday will be the movie “Star Trek Beyond”. It is rated PG-13 and the movie will start at dusk .Remember that bargain night is Monday night in Winner. Star Trek Beyond will also be showing at the Hilltop Drive Inn on West Highway 18 in Gregory Friday through Sunday. The movie will also begin at dusk in Gregory.
Weekend events in Chamberlain
Don’t forget the Chamberlain Cub Scouts will host a youth fishing day this Saturday, August 13th from 9 to 11am at the American Creek Marina in Chamberlain! Also on Saturday, the Chamberlain Booster Club will hold the Cub Scramble at the Chamberlain Country Club. Shotgun start is at 11am. Keep in mind the Chamberlain Farmers Market will re-open tomorrow from 8am-Noon in the parking lot of the Trinity Lutheran Church. The market will be open each Saturday through early October.
Donate school supplies at Shopko!
The Salvation Army and Shopko have teamed up on the “Tools for Schools” program to collect essential supplies for donation to children in need of school supplies, and to ensure local teachers and students have supplies they need for the upcoming school year. Be sure to visit Shopko before the end of tomorrow to donate school supplies!

Chamberlain reminders
Keep in mind that the Chamberlain Cub Scouts will be hosting a youth fishing day this weekend! The fishing day will take place on Saturday, August 13th from 9 to 11am at the American Creek Marina in Chamberlain. Coming up on Saturday, August 20th, the American Island Days Color Run will be held at the American Creek Marina parking lot. Registrations can be found at chamberlainsd.net, or at the Chamberlain Community Center.

The Chamberlain Farmers Market will be back open this Saturday from 8am-noon in the parking lot of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chamberlain.
