Everyone is invited to attend a free walleye supper and to the new pool big slide donation and pledge opportunity for the new Platte Pool that will be held on Sunday, July 3rd starting at 6pm at the Swimming Pool/Ball Field area in Platte! Come out and support the pool!

The Colome High School cheerleaders are currently having a bling sale going on with several clothing items available for all ages! You can view the Colome Consolidated School’s Facebook site to view a sale brochure. They encourage you to order a glitter and rhinestone shirt to support the cheerleaders! There will be a blood drive in Burke on Monday, June 27th from Noon to 5:30 at the Burke Civic Center. The drive is being sponsored by the Gregory County Farm Bureau and Farm Bureau Financial Services. If you want to make an appointment you can call Nikki at 775-8290.

The second annual Red Hills Last Chance Horseshoe Tournament will be held  in Carter on Saturday, June 25th at Red Hills Last Chance starting at 1pm. You must be signed in by 1pm the day of the tournament. The entry fee is forty dollars per team with 100 percent payback. There will be great food, fun and beer specials during the event! There will be an evening potluck meal starting at 6:30pm.

There will be a free farm and ranch clinic that will take place in Valentine, Nebraska on Thursday, June 30th. This clinic in the heart city will give farmers and ranchers the opportunity to meet with agriculture law attorneys and ag financial counselors. We encourage everyone to stop on by and enjoy the annual Sandhills Ranch Expo that is taking place today and tomorrow in Bassett, Nebraska! The opening of the expo exhibits will be at 10am this morning. There will be terrific beef and horse exhibits, commercial and outdoor exhibits for everyone to enjoy. There will also be live entertainment provided in the beer garden at 9:30pm tonight! A rough stock challenge will also be taking place at 7pm tonight. Cost of tickets are just fifteen dollars and those five and younger get in for free!

Christian Music in the yard will take place this evening at the Methodist Church in Mission! Food will be served at 6:30pm and the music will begin at 7pm with Ray Stewart. A free will offering will be taken to help repair the church roof. All are welcome to attend tonight and remember to bring your own chair or blanket!

There will be a drug awareness session that will be held  on Wednesday, June 15th starting at 6pm at the Burke Civic Center tomorrow. You have the opportunity to come learn more about drug awareness, including drugs and the law, what drugs look like and the latest trends in drug use.
