Reminders for today and tomorrow

Don’t forget that the Herrick Town Board will meet tonight. Their meeting will take place at the town hall at 7:30pm. The Chamberlain Nightengales will also be meeting this evening. Their meeting will start at 6pm at Charley’s Restaurant.  Tuesday, guitarist Jerry Barlow will be performing at 7:30 in the gazebo at the Gregory City Park!

Outdoor Fishing Day coming up in Winner!

Winner’s Youth Outdoor Fishing Day will take place at the Winner Youth Bass Pond on Saturday, June 11th! Registration will be held from 8-9am, weigh-ins and prizes will be handed out at 1pm followed by a free lunch at 1pm that is sponsored by Bankwest. The kids fishing tournament is open to age groups 3-6, 7-10 and 11-15. Every kid that participates will receive a prize to take home. Annual Cruise Night and Car Show set for this weekend!

The 32nd annual Valentine Classic Motor Club Cruise Night and Car Show will be held tonight and tomorrow in Valentine! The event will go on rain or shine. Many festivities will take place tonight to kick things off followed by a full slate of events on Saturday. If you would like more details you can checkout www.visitvalentine.org.

Reminders for next week

Don’t forget that the 77th annual Sandhills Cattle Association Convention will be held next Wednesday, June 8th at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine, Nebraska! If you have questions on the convention you can call 402-376-2310. Also in the heart city next week, the Valentine City Council will meet on Thursday, June 9th at 7pm the meeting room of the Valentine Public Library.

Design a Planter class scheduled for this evening

Klein’s True Value Greenhouse in Gregory will hold a design a planter class hosted by Mary Kay this evening starting at 5pm. You can call 605-835-9601 or stop by and signup today as space is limited. This will be the last class of the year at Klein’s True Value in Gregory. They would like to thank everone for their support, and to all of those who may have attended a class or two over the last few weeks.

Reminders for Saturday

We want to remind you that the annual Johnny Steffen Memorial Kids Fishing Derby will be held this Saturday, June 4th at Burke Lake! The fishing derby will take place from 1pm to 3pm. Also for this weekend, the Chamberlain Farmers Market will be open for the season this Saturday too! The farmers market will be located at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday’s through October 1st from 8am-noon.

Health Fair set for this Friday in Winner

A free community health fair will take place this Friday, June 3rd from 7:30am-1:30pm at the Winner Regional Healthcare Center. A free community breakfast will be held for the community from 6:30-9:30am, free and reduced cost health screenings will be offered along with Sanford heart screenings and vascular screenings by appointment.

Blood Drive to happen tomorrow in Gregory

We want to remind you about a blood drive that will be taking place in south central South Dakota this week. A blood drive will be held on Thursday, June 2nd from 12:30pm-6:00pm at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium. Gregory County reminders

We want to remind you that the annual German Fest is coming up on Saturday, June 11th in Gregory! Enjoy German food, music, dancing, beer, brats and bands! There will also be a drug awareness session on June 15th at 6pm in the Burke Civic Center. Come learn more about drug awareness, including drugs and the law, what drugs look like and the latest trends in drug use.

Tractor Safety Training set for this week in Valentine

We want to remind you about tractor safety training courses that will take place in Valentine this week on Thursday, June 2nd and on Friday, June 3rd. The courses will be held at the Cherry County Extension Fairgrounds. These courses are open to youth ages 14 and 15 and registration is required in advanced.
