One team will punch their ticket to the 9AA State Championship game in Vermillion for next week when Stanley County takes on Gregory this Saturday at Mike Dacy Field. Stanley County (8-2) has scored wins this postseason over Hill City, 52-0 and over Wolsey-Wessington back on Monday night, 35-28. Sophomore quarterback Riley Hannum has passed for 531 yards this season and is completing 47 percent of his balls thrown. Senior running back Trey Montana has rushed for 919 yards this season and is averaging over nine yards per carry. The Buffaloes two losses this season came in the first two weeks of 2016 as they fell to Potter County, 26-21 in Week 0 and they then fell to Sully Buttes, 39-6. The 10-0 Gorillas look to keep rolling in the postseason. Gregory is coming off a 52-0 victory over Clark/Willow Lake. The Gorillas won their first round game over Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central, 38-16. Gregory fell to Stanley County in the first round of the playoffs last season, 32-8 in Fort Pierre. The winner of Saturday’s game will meet the winner of the Baltic at Webster game next Thursday morning at the Dakota Dome at 10:30am.
