The 2022 General Election will take place state wide tomorrow in South Dakota with polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In Tripp County, Independent Steve Novotny is running against Republican Mike Novotny for District 3 County Commissioner. Republican Michelle Lovejoy is running against Independent Kristin Assman for Register of Deeds.
In Gregory County, Republican Timothy D. Drey is running against Independent Ryan Cook for County Sheriff. Republican Byrain L. Boes, Independent Julie R. Yager, and Independent Kyle Wilhelmsen are running for District 3 County Commissioner. Democrat Byron Grim is running against Republican Jeffrey G. Johnson for District 5 Commissioner.
In Todd County, Independent Marshal Tinant is running against Republican Richard “Dean” Stiefel for District 1 Commissioner. Republican Dave Assman is running against Democrat Trent Poignee Sr. for District 3 Commissioner.
In Mellette County, Independent Cecil Brandis Jr. is running against Republican Robert E. Bouman for District 2 County Commissioner.
In Lyman County, Republican Kalli Houchin is running against Independent Steve Gabriel for County Auditor. Republican Steve Manger is running against Independent Tim Feliciano for County Sheriff. Democrat Benny Janis, Democrat Stephanie Bolman, Republican Beau Johnson, Republican Ryan Huffman, Republican Zane Reis, and Independent Jared Schelske are running for County Commissioner at Large.
In Jones County, Republican Jacob T. Lolley, Independent Kerri Venard, and Independent Rick Stotts are running for County Auditor.
In Brule County, Republican Sharman Swanson, Independent James Nesladek, and Independent Jacob Palmer are running for District 1 Commissioner.
Democrat Dan Anderson is running against Republican Erin Tobin for State Senator, District 21.
Republican Rocky Blare and Republican Marty Overweg are running for two State Representative positions for District 21.
Democrat Shawn Bordeaux is running against Republican Joel Koskan for State Senator, District 26.
Democrat Eric Emery is running against Republican Joyce Glynn for State Representative, District 26A.
Republican Rebecca Reimer is running unopposed for State Representative, District 26B.
Democrat Brian L. Bengs, Libertarian Tamara J. Lesnar, and Republican John R. Thune are running for United States Senator.
Libertarian Collin Duprel is running against Republican Dusty Johnson for United States Representative.
Democrats Jamie Smith and Jennifer Keintz, Libertarians Tracey Quint and Ashley Strand, and Republicans Kristi Noem and Larry Rhoden are running For Governor and Lt. Governor respectively.
Democrat Thomas A. Cool is running against Republican Monae Johnson for Secretary of State.
Republican Marty J. Jackley is running unopposed for Attorney General.
Democrat Stephanie Marty, Libertarian Rene Meyer, and Republican Richard Sattgast are running for State Auditor.
Democrat John Cunningham is running against Republican Josh Haeder for State Treasurer.
Democrat Timothy Azure is running against Republican Brock Greenfield for Commissioner of Schools and Public Lands.
Democrat Jeffrey Barth is running against Republican Chris Nelson for Public Utilities Commissioner.
Voters will also be voting “Yes“ or “No” on Constitutional Amendment D which would expand Medicaid eligibility.
Finally on the ballot is Initiated Measure 27 where voters will vote “Yes” or “No” on legalizing the possession, use, and distribution of Marijuana.
