Day 1 of the Class A State Boys Golf Tournament was held Monday at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell. Landon Weber of Parkston sits atop the leaderboard after shooting a 69. Chase McQuirk of Chamberlain is tied for third as he shot a 71. Winner’s top golfer was Carter Craven as he shot a 79. Winner’s Brody Calhoon shot an 84, while Cooper Craven and Jalen Tideman of Winner each shot an 88, and Gus Tobin of Winner carded an 89. Vermillion has a nine shot lead on Dakota Valley atop the team standings. Winner is 12th as a team.

In the Class AA State Boys Golf Tournament in Aberdeen, Drew Simon of O’Gorman, along with Asher Dannenbring of Mitchell, and Jalen Dwire of Harrisburg finished atop the leaderboard as all three guys shot a 70. Lincoln is atop the team standings, while Harrisburg, Brandon Valley and O’ Gorman are tied for second, four shots back of Lincoln.

Cross Country

At the SESD Meet in Mount Vernon, Chamberlain’s Grace Phillips won the girls race, while Walter Graesser of Platte/Geddes won the boys race.
