The Region 3B Cross Country Meet took place on Wednesday in Platte. The girls race was won by Hallie Person of Burke in a time of 19:37:25. Gregory’s Emma Thomas finished runner up. The Burke girls won the team title, Kimball/White Lake was runner up, Platte/Geddes finished third while Gregory was fifth as a team. In the boys race, Titus Roesler of Freeman Academy/Marion was victorious in a time of 17:33. Nate Whalen of Platte/Geddes finished fifth while Collin Engebretson of Platte/Geddes was sixth and Luke Sinclair of Gregory was eighth. Freeman Academy/Marion won the boys team title, Platte/Geddes was runner up, Kimball/White Lake was fourth while Gregory was fifth. In the Region 5B Meet in Philip, Jonathan Burkhalter of Bison was victorious in a time of 17:13. Jones County’s Wyatt Olson was 10th. The Bison boys won the team title, Jones County was 4th and White River came in 5th. In the girls race, Jolie Dugan of Jones County won in a time of 21:01. Winning the girls team title was Newell.
