Twins Talk with Chris Doski returns today on Country 1260, and tonight on 93.7FM! Chris and a local Minnesota Twins fan will take a look at the first half of the season for the Twins and talk about next week’s all star game festivities that will be taking place in San Diego. The program will air on 1260AM today at around 3:45 and on 93.7FM tonight at around 7:10.
The Pix Theatre in Winner will be showing “Project 22” on Wednesday, July 13th at 7pm next week. “Project 22” is a documentary movie that focuses on brain injury and post traumatic stress that can lead to suicide. This movie can help show you how to make the right decisions to seek help. The movie is free to the public.
There will be a blood drive in White River on July 20th from 1-5pm at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. If you want to make an appointment you can call Donna at 259-3372. A blood drive will be held on July 27th from 1-6:15pm at the Winner Regional Chapel, and again on July 28th from 8am-noon at the same location. To make an appointment call Lyndsey at 842-7178.
An alumni golf tournament was held on Saturday in Gregory. The team of Justin Keegan, Caleb DuFrain, Brady “Night Train” Lane and Michael Hoffman ended up as the winners as they shot a 30 in the nine hole tournament. Sunday, Junior Teener and Teener baseball was held in Gregory. The Gregory Junior Teeners beat Winner, 10-3. The Gregory Teeners were able to grab a victory over Winner, 7-4. Legion Baseball took place over the weekend as Winner/Colome competed in Sioux Falls. On Saturday, Eden Prairie defeated Winner/Colome 13-2, and Winner/Colome then fell to Milbank , 5-1. Sunday, Winner/Colome beat Beresford, 4-3.
The Chamberlain Farmers Market will once again be open to the public this weekend! The market is open through October 1st each and every Saturday from 8am-noon at the Lutheran Church parking lot in Chamberlain. If you would like more information you can call Teal at 605-682-9377. The farmers market is sponsored by the South Dakota Department of Agriculture.
The 7th annual Art Expo will be held at the South Dakota Hall of Fame in Chamberlain this Saturday, July 9th from 9am-5pm, and on Sunday, July 10th from 9am-3pm. Local artists will display wood carvings, quilts, paintings, photography, drawings and much more. There will be workshops both days too. It will be a free will donation to checkout the Expo next weekend.
End the Fourth of July with a bang tonight by taking in an amateur baseball game that will take place between two of our area squads! The Gregory/South Central Storm will play host to the Winner/Colome Pheasants. First pitch in Gregory is scheduled for 7pm. We want to wish both teams tonight the best of luck!
