A couple of big events to happen in Gregory County this weekend!

Don’t forget the Gregory Lions Club will hold lawn mower races tomorrow night under their new lights east of town. Calcutta is at 7:30pm and the races get underway at 8. Also make plans to attend the Gregory/Dallas Chamber’s German Fest tomorrow at the Gregory Auditorium! The event will take place from 5 to 11pm. Enjoy great music, authentic German food, dancing and beer!

Teener Tournament gets underway tomorrow in Winner and Colome!

A Teener Baseball tournament will take place in Tripp County this weekend. The tournament will wrapup at Leahy Bowl on Sunday. Here is what the schedule for Saturday looks like:

Bull Riding competition coming up at the Shippy Ranch!

The Midwest Bucking Bull Association bullriding and bucking bull competiton is coming up on Friday, June 24th at the Shippy Ranch, south of Colome! A great concession stand will be on site and there will be something for everyone at the great event!  The events will get underway at 9:30 am. Aberdeen leads the nation in attendance in Division 2!

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) – The Northern State University men’s and women’s basketball programs both led the nation in average attendance this past season, for the ninth year in a row.

The women’s team drew an average of 2,880 fans per game and the men’s team 3,346 fans. Both were tops in NCAA Division II.

Drug Awareness session to be held in Burke

There will be a drug awareness session that will be held  on Wednesday, June 15th starting at 6pm at the Burke Civic Center next week. You have the opportunity to come learn more about drug awareness, including drugs and the law, what drugs look like and the latest trends in drug use.

Christian Music in the yard coming up

Christian Music in the yard will take place next Wednesday, June 15th at the Methodist Church in Mission! Food will be served at 6:30 and the music will begin at 7pm with Ray Stewart. A free will offering will be taken to help repair the church roof. All are welcome to attend and remember to bring your own chair or blanket!
