Reminders for today and tomorrow

Don’t forget that the Herrick Town Board will meet tonight. Their meeting will take place at the town hall at 7:30pm. The Chamberlain Nightengales will also be meeting this evening. Their meeting will start at 6pm at Charley’s Restaurant.  Tuesday, guitarist Jerry Barlow will be performing at 7:30 in the gazebo at the Gregory City Park!

Outdoor Fishing Day coming up in Winner!

Winner’s Youth Outdoor Fishing Day will take place at the Winner Youth Bass Pond on Saturday, June 11th! Registration will be held from 8-9am, weigh-ins and prizes will be handed out at 1pm followed by a free lunch at 1pm that is sponsored by Bankwest. The kids fishing tournament is open to age groups 3-6, 7-10 and 11-15. Every kid that participates will receive a prize to take home. If you have any questions you can call DB’s Bait & Tackle at 842-2199.

Amateur Baseball scores from Sunday

It was a busy day for Amateur Baseball on Sunday in South Dakota. The Winner/Colome Pheasants moved their record to 7-1 on the season after they defeated the Mitchell Mad Dogs, 11-1 in seven innings. Austin Calhoon picked up the win on the mound while Derek Graesser, Austin Richey and Ryan Richey had big days at the plate. The Royals will be back in action on Thursday as they will travel to Platte.  The Parkston Mudcats defeated Platte on Sunday, 12-5. Zach Scott had three hits including a home run. Elsewhere, Plankinton beat Gregory/South Central, 10-4 yesterday. Chris Hill had a home run and drove in four. South Central was held to one hit by Garth Minnick. The Chamberlain Mallards fell to Miller 13-3 on Sunday. Matt Randall and Josh Hoffman went yard in the victory. The Kimball/White Lake amateur baseball team was victorious over Pierre on Sunday by a final score of 7-5.

Amateur Baseball took place between two local teams last night at Leahy Bowl in Winner. The Winner/Colome Pheasants moved their overall record on the season to 6-1 as they defeated Gregory, 11-1. Both teams will be back in action this weekend. Sunday, Winner/Colome will host Mitchell at 2pm at Leahy Bowl while Gregory will host Plankinton on Sunday.

Teener Baseball took place at Leahy Bowl last night. Winner was able to defeat Onida by a final score of 9-4. Elsewhere in teener ball last night, Valentine defeated Mission, 16-11. Amateur Baseball from Thursday, Kimball/White Lake was able to hold off Chamberlain in ten innings, 4-2. Brian Zeman pitched all ten innings on the mound for the win while Jacob Byre went nine innings on the mound for the Mallards. Wes Kroupa, Trent Wookey and Tony Poncia had two hits apiece in the win for Kimball/White Lake.

Annual Cruise Night and Car Show set for this weekend!

The 32nd annual Valentine Classic Motor Club Cruise Night and Car Show will be held tonight and tomorrow in Valentine! The event will go on rain or shine. Many festivities will take place tonight to kick things off followed by a full slate of events on Saturday. If you would like more details you can checkout www.visitvalentine.org.
