Don’t forget that Colome Pre-School registration will be held next Tuesday, May 24th from 6-7:30pm in the Pre-School Room. Parents are asked to bring a birth certificate and immunization records. Preview for the Platte/Geddes vs Gregory/South Central game tonight
The first round of the Region 4B Club Baseball Playoffs will wrapup tonight as Platte/Geddes will host Gregory/South Central at 7pm in Platte. Platte/Geddes is the number two seed in the region while Gregory/South Central is the three seed. Thus far in Region 4B, Winner/Colome has defeated Chamberlain/Lyman, 13-0, St. Thomas More beat Todd County, 7-0 and Bennett County edged Lead/Deadwood, 3-2. The winner of tonight’s game in Platte will move on to Leahy Bowl for the Super Regional Tournament next Tuesday to play the Winner/Colome Royals for the East Division Championship. We will provide you with coverage from Leahy Bowl for the tournament on 93.7FM!
Season begins next week for the Colome Pink Ladies Dart League!
The Colome Pink Ladies Dart League is gearing up for another summer! The group gets together and throw darts and host fundraisers to raise money. They give the money raised to local community members who are fighting cancer. If you have any questions or want to learn more about the dart league you can call Chrissy at 840-0343 or you can call Collene at 840-1636. The season will begin May 24th.
A few reminders for the week
Don’t forget to attend the slave and pie auction that will be put on by the Winner Baseball Association tomorrow! Hot dogs, beans and chips will be served for a free will offering at 5:30 followed by the auction at 6:30. Also on Thursday, a horse safety course will be offered at the Pukwana Ag Building at 6:30pm. Don’t forget that Gregory Pre-School students need to be registered for the upcoming school year by the end of Friday at the Gregory Elementary School.
Two day blood drive coming up next week
There will be a two day blood drive in Winner next week at the Winner American Legion. On May 25th, the blood drive will get underway at 10:30am and run until 4:30pm. On May 26th, the blood drive will run from 7am-noon. The blood drive next week is being sponsored by the Southern Belle Cattlewomen. Club Baseball playoff action in Platte tonight
The first round of the Region 4B Club Baseball Playoffs will continue tonight. Platte/Geddes will play host to Gregory/South Central at 7pm in Platte. The winner of the contest will advance to the super regional tournament next Tuesday, May 24th to play the Winner/Colome Royals. We want to say good luck to both Gregory/South Central and to Platte/Geddes in tonight’s big matchup.
Indian Taco fundraiser set for this Friday
Don’t forget that the Winner Assembly of God Church will be having an Indian Taco fundraiser this Friday, May 20th from 11:30am-2:00pm at the Church Fellowship Hall. Tractor Safety Training coming up in Valentine
We want to remind you that Tractor Safety Training will take place at the Cherry County Extension Fairgrounds in Valentine, Nebraska on June 2nd and the 3rd. The training classes are open to 14 and 15 year olds. Registration is required in advanced for the classes. Golf scramble coming up in Burke
Community Memorial Hospital in Burke will be hosting a four person golf scramble on June 5th at the Burke Golf Course with a 10am shotgun start. Winner/Colome defeats Chamberlain/Lyman in first round club baseball playoff action Monday night
First round Region 4B Club Baseball playoff action took place at Leahy Bowl last night. Winner/Colome was victorious over Chamberlain/Lyman, 13-0 in five innings. Reed Harter threw a no-hitter and had thirteen strikeouts. With the win last night, Winner/Colome will host the super regional tournament on Tuesday, May 24th. The East Division Championship will start at 3pm on the 24th between Winner/Colome and the winner of Wednesday’s matchup between Gregory and Platte. The West Division Championship will be played between St. Thomas More and Bennett County at approximately 5:15 followed by the winners of the two division championships at around 7:30 for the region championship and for the right to play at the state tournament in Sioux Falls on May 30th.
