The team of Rick Godel and Scott Schramm won the Frontier Motors Open as they shot a 63.

The team of Eric and Jacob Sazue won the Dakota Milestones Tournament at the Chamberlain Country Club as they shot a 61.

 

State High School Rodeo

White River’s Hazin Schmidt was a state champion in bull riding !

Seth Heath of Colome finished fourth overall in all around points in the boys standings, while Garrett Phillips of Winner finished sixth.

Garrett Phillips qualified for nationals in reined cow horse as he placed fourth.

Taos Weborg of Burke/Gregory qualified for nationals as he finished fourth overall in bareback riding.

In shooting sports, Jude and Oren Sargent, along with Jack Anderson of Winner Area are all headed to Nationals. Jude was a state champion in trap shooting earlier in the week, while Oren and Jack each finished in the top four.

Jack Anderson of Colome along with his partner Tristan Spencer won round 2 of team roping Friday at State Rodeo in Fort Pierre. Piper Hanson of Burke qualified in the short go for pole bending. Congratulations to Winner Area’s Jude Sargent, who finished with a perfect 100 score to win a state championship in the State Trap Tournament!

Little League Baseball from Friday, the Winner Purple Majors defeated Gregory, 13-1. The Winner Purple Rookies defeated Gregory, 4-1. The Winner Purple Minors defeated Gregory, 9-1. The Clearfield Minors defeated Winner Gold, 5-3. The Winner Gold Rookies defeated Clearfield, 2-1.

Golf from Friday, the First Dakota team won the Junior Achievement Tournament at the Chamberlain Country Club as they finished with a 25.

In Junior Legion Baseball on Friday, Platte/Geddes defeated Winner/Colome, 2-1.

In Teener Baseball on Friday, Valentine defeated Martin, 8-0 and 8-7.

In Major League Baseball on Friday, the Twins defeated the A’s in 10 innings, 6-5.

Frontier Days Rodeo coming up next month in White River

The 113th annual White River Frontier Days will take place July 12th through the 14th at the Frontier Rodeo Arena. Friday, the rodeo will start at 7pm. Saturday, the parade will start at 11am, with the rodeo getting underway at 7pm. Sunday, slack will start at 10am. Mutton Bustin, Ranch Broncs and a candy scramble will be taking place as well.
