Local Elections to take place

Local elections will take place in our listening area on Tuesday, April 9th. Polls will be open from 7am to 7pm.

The City of Gregory will have an election in Ward 3 for a two year term. On the ballot are David Peabody and Ashley Lozano. Voting will take place at the Community Center in the Auditorium.

The City of Winner will have an election for Mayor and City Council. Each position is for a two year term. Running for Mayor are incumbent Jody Brozik and Brad Schramm. Running for City Council in Ward 2 are incumbent Joe Hockett and Felicia Hughes and running in Ward 3 are incumbent Austin Klundt and Matt Soles. Voting will take place at the council chambers in the City Office.

Colome Consolidated school board will have an election to decide whether to keep the consolidation with Witten and Wood or discontinue that consolidation. There will also be a school board election in Colome with three positions open. The candidates running for a 3 year term are Pam Haukaas, Mathew Vandenbark, Kevin Kingsley and Brian Jorgensen. Voting will take place at the Colome Fire Hall.

There are 2 spots open on the Oacoma Town board. The candidates running for a 3 year term on the Board of Trustees are Angela Zeman, Holly Reis, Kyle Fuchs, Gary Dominiack and Kimberly Thomas. Voting will take place at the Community Center in Oacoma.

Circus coming back to Chamberlain

The Big Bend Shrine Circus will be returning to Chamberlain later this month! The circus will be at the Chamberlain Armory on Monday, April 22nd, and Tuesday, April 23rd. There will be two shows each evening at 4:30 and 7:15. Tickets will be available at the door. 6th grade kids and younger will get in to the circus for free!

Workshop coming up in Ainsworth

There will be  a ranch labor workshop that will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at the Ainsworth Elks Lodge. It will cover several topics, including HR, managing employees, hiring the right fit, internships, interviewing and more. The key speaker for the event will be Burke Teichert. Boys
1st as a team was Miller with a 243. Derek Brueggemann of Miller was the medalist with a 73. Wall was second as a team, Gregory tied for eighth. Gregory’s Trey Murray was 9th with an 82.

Girls
1st as a team was Chester with a 282. Brynn Roerich of Clark/Willow Lake was the medalist with an 85. Miller was second as a team. Burke tied for third as a team, while Platte/Geddes was sixth. Burke’s Calli Davis tied with Mallory Gant of Platte/Geddes, as both players each shot a 97 for 8th.
