Winner High School Student Council members are looking for the perfect candidate to be the 2026 Homecoming Parade Marshal. If you have an individual who you feel deserves this honor, please send a detailed description of the individual’s background and why you feel he or she deserves to be Parade Marshal. Course set for September at the Gun Club in Winner
The Rosebud Arrow Rod and Gun Club in Winner is sponsoring a Basic Pistol and South Dakota Enhanced Carry Course on Saturday, September 19th from 9:00 to 5:00. The Class fee is $150.00 for first time applications. It’s $75.00 for Enhanced Carry 5 year Renewals. Check your renewal dates, as the class can be taken 365 days prior to expiration. Registration forms can be found at Jeff’s Gun Vault, Rosebud Arrow Rod and Gun Club and Runnings. Pre-Registration is required. Blood Drive coming up Thursday in Presho

Harvest Festival set for September 19th in Gregory
The Gregory/Dallas Chamber has their Harvest Festival coming up on September 19th at the Gregory City Park. Events will get underway at 2pm. Soup and pie tasting will run from 5 to 7. If you would like to make a soup or bake a pie, call the Chamber at 835-8270.
South Dakota State 4-H Rodeo highlights
The South Dakota State 4H Rodeo Finals wrapped up over the weekend in Fort Pierre. Ash Kaiser of Millboro was the Reserve Champion (2nd place) steer wrestler and also was 2nd in go round #2, Bailey Shelbourn of Winner who teamed up with JJ Sturkel were champion senior team ropers and also got 2nd place in the 2nd go of senior girls ribbon roping, Kasen Kartak of Clearfield was 4th place in junior boys breakaway roping, Bridger Stirling was 3rd place in junior boys cattle riding in the 1st go round and 3rd overall for the state, Seth Heath was 4th place in tie down and was 4th in go round #2 of the steer wrestling, Charlee Shippy of Colome was champion senior barrel racer and was first in go round #1 senior girls barrels. Reven Moss of Clearfield won 1st in the 2nd go round of tie down, Owen Petersek was 4th place in the 2nd go round of junior boys goats, Rope Reis of Chamberlain was 1st in the 1st go round of tie down, Ryken Lambley of Burke got 4th in the 1st go of junior bareback steer riding and 3rd in the second go setting him as reserve state champ.
Final Day at Murdo Pool is Tuesday
The final day of the summer at the Murdo Swimming Pool is Tuesday, August 18th. The pool is open from 1 to 4:45, and they also have adult swim from 5-6. Manager Sophie Dowling and the entire staff want to thank the public for a great summer!
Colome holding Cowboy Fair today
THE ANNUAL COWBOY FAIR IN COLOME IS HAPPENING TODAY, WITH THINGS KICKING OFF AT 3PM WITH THE CORN HOLE TOURNAMENT, FOLLOWED BY ROOT BEER FLOATS, BINGO, A FARMERS MARKET, DUNK TANK, QUICK DRAW, SKATETOWN COWBOY SUPPPER (FREE WILL OFFERING) AND 5-PERSON BED RACES AT 7:45PM.
