Winner Dispatch will be conducting tornado siren testing this week. They will test the sirens on Wednesday, April 15th beginning at approximately 10:15am in the communities of Winner, Colome and Witten.

The Medicine Creek Golf Course in Presho will hold a flag auction and gun raffle on May 9th. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased by contacting Chris Long at 605-838-6002.

THE STATE VISUAL ART AND WARS COMPETITON WAS HELD OVER THE WEEKEND IN ABERDEEN. IN DIGITAL MEDIA/GRAPHIC DESIGN, SAMUEL BEARDT OF WHITE RIVER WAS A CHAMPION IN CLASS B. IN DRAWING (COLORED), TOREE MOSEL OF CHAMBERLAIN WAS A CHAMPION FOR CLASS A. IN THREE DIMENSIONAL (3D), DAPHNE KROGMAN OF CHAMBERLAIN WAS A CHAMPION IN CLASS A. CHAMBERLAIN WAS THE OVERALL TEAM CHAMPION IN CLASS A!

The Winner Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual Fireman’s Dance on Saturday, April 25th at the Winner Armory. Doors will open at 8pm, and the dance will begin at 9pm. Weston Frank will provide the music. You must be 21 to attend. Rides will be available to and from the dance within Winner City limits.

Colome held their third annual Friendly Bartender Contest on Friday night at the Colome American Legion. Gene Bertram won for a third straight year with his s’more’s martini. Mary Kay Drees was runner up with her Cowboy Cooler drink.

The City of Winner will hold it’s annual Spring Cleanup the week of April 13th. The city is asking residents within city limits to please separate all items and have curbside or in the alley by Monday, April 13th. No plastic or tires will be accepted.

Winner Regional Health will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt this weekend! The hunt will take place on Saturday, April 11th. The hunt will take place at the Winner City Park, and will get underway at 10am. Donations of candy and plastic eggs can be dropped off at the front desk at Winner Regional.

There will be a community meeting on Friday, April 10th beginning at 10am at the Winner Senior Citizens Center. This is concerning the ROCS Dining Services Program and Transit Program. They are looking for community support and input. ROCS CEO and Program Directors will be present to answer questions.

Bingo will return to the Colome Legion Hall this Saturday, April 11th! A sloppy joe supper will be served beginning at 6pm, followed by bingo getting underway at 7pm. Bring your friends and family for a very fun night at the Colome Legion!

The Colome School District will hold preschool registration and kindergarten screenings on Thursday, April 9th from 8am to 7pm at the Colome Gym lobby. If you have questions, call the school at 842-1624.
