Gregory reminders for next week

Coming up on Wednesday, September 5th in Gregory will be joint screenings for families with kids ages three to five. For appointments, call 835-9672. The 2019 Gregory After Prom Party Committee will be hosting a Color Run on September 8th at 1pm. Registration will begin at 12:30 on the south side of the Gregory City Park. The cost will be $15 per participant. Also happening on the 8th will be the Bankwest Harvest Festival starting at 5pm at the City Park! There will be soup tasting, buggy rides, bouncy houses, face painting and more.

Winner Summer Nights set for tonight!

The final ‘Winner Summer Nights’ event for the summer will be held tonight on Main Street! Stop by between 5:30 and 9pm as we will be celebrating Winner Livestock Auction’s 85 year anniversary. There will be a rain simulator, SDNG inflatables, roping dummies, a money dig, duck pond, candy scramble, winner rocks and weiner dog races! Live music will be provided by Westbound throughout the night too.

Homecoming set for September 21st in Keya Paha

The Keya Paha High School Homecoming is set for September 21st! The football team will battle the Boyd County County Spartans at 7pm that night. The parade will start at 2:30 on Friday with the line-up at the High School by 2pm. The theme for the parade this year is ‘Board Games’. Spirit Days will go as follows: Monday- Twins Day. Tuesday- Circle of Life- either dress like a baby or the elderly. Wednesday- JH/HS: Teacher Day (Dress like your favorite teacher). Thursday- Decade Day- Dress like you were living in a different decade. Friday- Spirit Day- wear your jerseys and team shirts.

Range Workshop to happen tomorrow

A Tripp County Range Workshop will be held on Thursday, August 30th at 2pm at the Tresh Swedlund ranch, approximately 30 miles northwest of Winner. Participants will meet at St. Mary’s Hall in the parking lot at 2, where transportation to the site will be provided. The workshop will include: a livestock watering system, extensive rotational grazing systems and range plant ID. The program will conclude with the NRCS Rainfall Simulator on Winner’s Main Street in conjunction with Winner Summer Nights.

Prairie Cruisers Car and Tractor Show set for Saturday

The annual Prairie Cruisers Car and Tractor Show will be held at the Tripp County Historical Museum on Saturday, September 1st! Dash plaques will be handed out at the event in memory of Brent Janak. The entry fee is $20 and registration will go from 11am to 1pm. The show will be held from 1-3 and the award presentation will follow. A free meal will be served at noon and there will some great door prizes up for grabs. If you have questions, contact Keith Gebhart at 840-4831.

Volunteers needed for this weekend in Winner

The Winner Area Chamber of Commerce is in need of a few more volunteers to help oversee the inflatables that will be placed on Winner’s Main Street over Labor Day weekend. Volunteers will be needed beginning at 5pm Saturday, September 1st through Labor Day Monday. Please call Karla Brozik at the Chamber Office at 842-1533 to let her know what time you can help oversee the inflatables.

Checkerboard Days coming up Thursday in Colome

Hansen Mueller in Colome would like to say thank you to all of the local farmers and ranchers by inviting them to their Checkerboard Days on Thursday, August 30th  from 11am to 2pm! They will be serving up free brats, burgers, hot dogs and drinks for all who attend. Bring the entire family as there will be many great prizes up for grabs!
