Farm and Ranch Clinic coming up in Valentine

There will be a free Farm and Ranch Clinic that will be held on Thursday, June 1st in Valentine. This clinic specializes in legal and financial issues relating to farming and ranching, financial planning, estate and transition planning, farm loan programs, debtor/creditor law, water and other relevant matter. Teach SD Class to return tomorrow

Do some of you have technology questions or maybe an interest in learning how to use your smart phone, computer, tablet, Facebook or apps? You can register for a free one hour Teach South Dakota Class that is scheduled for every Friday afternoon from 1-2pm at Grossenburg Implement in Winner! Customer Service Seminar to happen May 25th

A customer service seminar will take place on Thursday, May 25th from 1-4pm at the 4-H Center in Winner. Dee Dee Rapp will speak on how great customer service can grow your business. Remember that this is a free seminar and is sponsored by SD Tourism, Tripp County and the Winner Area Chamber of Commerce. To register call Karla at 842-1533.

8 area schools to hold graduation this weekend

We have many area seniors that will be receiving their graduation diplomas this weekend as  eight of our area schools will hold ceremonies. Saturday, Rock County, Valentine, Kimball and Colome Schools will hold graduation ceremonies. Sunday, South Central, Chamberlain, Jones County and Ainsworth will celebrate. We hope all of our area seniors have a fun and safe graduation weekend, and all of us here at KWYR want to wish you best of luck in your future endeavors!

Mohnen's win the Platte Fishing Tournament!

Congratulations to John and Scott Mohnen who won the 2017 Platte Area Chamber of Commerce Walleye Fishing Tournament! The tournament was held back on Saturday. The Mohnen’s caught a weight of 19.26 fish. The second place team was Paul and Doug Poncelet along with Ed Beal who caught a weight of 15.93 walleye. Thanks to all who attended and took part in the tournament on what was a gorgeous day!

Vacation Bible School to start May 29th

The Winner United Methodist Church will hold their 2017 Vacation Bible School that is titled “Hero Central” starting May 29th and running through June 2nd! It will start at 5pm with a meal and end at 8pm each night. It is open to children ages five through eighth grade. They ask that you please get pre-registered at the church office as soon as possible.

Reminders for today

There will be auditions for the musical super hero show in Gregory this afternoon starting at 3pm at the Gregory School Gym. The Burke City Council will meet tonight at 7pm in the Municipal meetin room in Burke. The Lyman School Board will meet tonight at 7pm at their regular location in Presho. Colome Grade School’s annual Field Day will take place from 10am-3pm today. A picnic lunch will be served at the track.

Donate to the Tripp County 4-H Clothing Drive this week!

The Tripp County 4-H Youth Group is taking part in a statewide clothing drive project that is going on now until the end of July! If you would like to help out and donate items to this big project, you can drop off your items at the Tripp County 4-H Extension Office that is located inside the Tripp County Courthouse in Winner during the week. This project will run through July 31st.

Keya Paha County to hold graduation tomorrow

Keya Paha County Seniors are ready to receive their diplomas! Keya Paha County’s graduation ceremony is set to take place on Saturday, May 6th beginning at 2pm.  Next weekend we have numerous area schools holding graduation ceremonies. Saturday, the 13th, Rock County, Valentine, Kimball and Colome will all celebrate graduation. Sunday, the 14th, Seniors at South Central, Jones County, Chamberlain and Ainsworth will graduate. Best of luck in your future endeavors!

A few notes for this weekend

Don’t forget that the annual Platte Chamber of Commerce Walleye Fishing Derby will be happening this weekend! A Calcutta and rules meeting will take place Friday night at the Yellow Rose and the fishing will start at 7am Saturday. The Black Lab in Winner invites everyone to stop by to celebrate Cinco De Mayo Friday night as they will be serving up tacos, chips and salsa along with five dollar margaritas! The Fort Pierre Chamber has the second weekend of the horse races happening this Saturday and Sunday at the Stanley County Fairgrounds starting at 1pm. We also have High School Triple Crown practice rodeos going on this weekend! Friday at the White River Arena, Saturday at the Tripp County Rodeo Grounds and Sunday at the Burke Arena.
