The Winner Area Chamber of Commerce will host Summer Nights on Thursday, July 10th on Main Street in Winner from 6-9pm. The Dirty Boot Band will provide the entertainment for the evening. There will numerous food vendors to explore, along with entertaining acts that include Special K the Clown, Balloon Twister and much more.

White River to host rodeo next weekend
The 113th annual White River Frontier Days Rodeo will take place July 11th through the 13th. The rodeo will begin at 7pm the nights of July 11th and 12th. Slack on Sunday the 13th will begin at 10am. The rodeo will feature mutton bustin’, ranch broncs and a candy scramble for the kids.
Fireworks Display in Platte tonight
Tonight, there will be a fireworks display at the Platte Baseball field, after the Killer Tomatoes battle Corsica/Stickney. The game will start at 7:30pm. The Platte Volunteer Fire Department teamed with the Killer Tomatoes to help shoot off the fireworks.
Afternoon fire claims life
This afternoon, in the 1pm hour, the Winner Fire Department responded to a windrower fire on 280th Street, west of South County Road. Also, on the scene were the Tripp County Ambulance and Tripp County Sheriff. There was a confirmed fatality with this fire.
Bonesteel to hold swim lessons
The Bonesteel City Pool will be offering pool lessons this summer! Lessons will take place July 8th through 11th, and again July 14th through 17th. Times will be determined at a later date. To signup, call Jamie Divine at 208-0153.
