Day 1 of the Class A State Boys Golf Tournament was held Monday in Aberdeen. There was a four way tie atop the individual leaderboard after day 1. Tea Area’s Keeton Newborg finished tied with Chamberlain’s Dakota Munger, Vermillion’s Trey Hansen and Cooper Girard of Vermillion as all four guys shot a 74 Monday. Kaleb Jost of Sioux Falls Christian was tied for fifth Monday with a 75. Landon Calhoon was Winner Area’s top golfer Monday as he shot an 80, tied for 19th.  Vermillion has a sixteen stroke lead on Roncalli in the team standings as Vermillion has a team best 304 score after day 1. In the Class AA State Boys Golf Tournament, Harrisburg’s Riley Christensen is atop the leaderboard by two strokes as he shot a 68 on Monday. Hayden Scott of Harrisburg is tied for runner up with Nicklaus Bothun of Pierre. Parker Schultz of Harrisburg is tied for fourth with a 71 while Mac Drake of O’Gorman is sixth with a 74. Harrisburg is atop the team standings with a 286 score, eight strokes ahead of Pierre.
