Local State Track and Field results from the weekend

State Track and Field came to a close on Saturday in the Black Hills. Here are the local results: At the State A Tournament in Spearfish, Chamberlain finished fourth in the Boys Sprint Medley. Winner’s Aaron Monk placed third in the boys 110 hurdles while Chamberlain’s Drayton Priebe was fifth. In the girls 100 hurdles, Winner’s Skyler Hansen placed fifth. In the girls 4 x 2 relay, Winner placed fifth. In the boys two mile run, Dom Santiago of Chamberlain placed third while Winner’s Kade Watson was fifth. In the girls two mile, Kinsey Evans of Chamberlain placed fifth. In the boys discus, Winner’s Preston Norrid finished third. In the girls triple jump, Winner’s Ellie Brozik placed fourth. Winner’s Jenaya Schrader finished seventh in the girls discus. In the girls high jump, Winner’s Kelsey Sachtjen placed sixth. In the boys mile, Kade Watson of Winner came in fifth while Dom Santiago of Chamberlain was seventh. In the girls mile, Chamberlain’s Kinsey Evans placed eighth. In the boys 400 meter dash, Chamberlain’s Hayden Evans placed eighth. In the boys shot put, Chamberlain’s Jackson Soulek was ninth overall. Winner’s Kade Watson placed sixth overall in the boys 800 meter run. Sioux Falls Christian won the boys team title. Winner finished tenth as a team. On the girls side,  West Central won the team title.

 

At the State B Tournament in Rapid City, Colome’s Michael Supik placed fifth in the boys long jump while Burke’s Ben Witt was ninth. In the boys 800 meter run, Ben Witt placed seventh. In the girls sprint medley, Kimball/White Lake won the state championship in a time of 4:23:37,  Jones County was eighth. In the boys 1600 sprint medley, Gregory was sixth overall. In the boys 4 x 8 relay, Platte/Geddes finished fifth overall. In the girls 4 x 8 relay, Burke finished third while Gregory was seventh. In the boys 110 hurdles, Taron Serr of Burke placed fifth. In the girls 100 hurdles, Piper Hanson of Burke was runner up to Mackenzie Hemmer of Colman-Egan. Lyman’s Skyler Volmer placed fourth. In the boys 4 x 2 relay, Platte/Geddes placed eighth. In the girls 4 x 2 relay, Kimball/White Lake was third. In the boys 100 meter dash, Aiden Bultje of Platte/Geddes was eighth. In the girls 100 meter dash, Caelyn Valandra-Prue of White River was eighth. In the girls two mile run, Kailee Frank of Burke finished runner up to Madala Hanson of Dell Rapids St. Mary. Hallie Person of Burke was third while Jolie Dugan of Jones County was fifth. In the boys discus, TJ Moran of Lyman placed fourth. In the boys triple jump, Dylan Marshall of White River placed eighth. In the girls high jump, Skyler Volmer of Lyman placed fourth. In the boys 4 x 1 relay, Platte/Geddes was eighth. In the girls 4 x 1 relay, Platte/Geddes was fourth and Jones County was eighth. In the girls 300 hurdles, Piper Hanson of Burke was sixth. In the boys shot put, Warren Soulek of Kimball/White Lake was sixth while Caden Foxley of Platte/Geddes was seventh. In the girls 800 meter run, Emma Thomas of Gregory finished runner up. Caelyn Valandra-Prue of White River was sixth.  In the boys 4 x 4 relay, Gregory finished fourth overall. In the Girls Class B, 4 x 4 relay, Kimball/White Lake finished third overall. Gregory finished ninth. Hanson was able to edge Viborg/Hurley by one point for the Boys Team Title. Colman-Egan won the Girls Team Title. Burke finished fourth overall.

Little League Baseball scores from Tuesday

In Little League Baseball last night, the Valentine and Winner Majors split a doubleheader. Valentine was able to score a 2-1 victory before Winner defeated Valentine, 14-2. The Clearfield and Gregory Rookie game ended in a 4-4 tie. The Clearfield Minors defeated Gregory, 8-4. Sam Sachtjen was the winning pitcher. The Clearfield Majors were victorious over Gregory, 20-12. Carter McKenzie was the winning pitcher. The Lyman Rookies beat Burke, 1-0. The Burke Rookies defeated Lyman, 8-0 while the Lyman Majors outscored Burke, 18-10.

Scores from Monday

The Region 4B Club Baseball Tournament was held on Monday in Gregory and Platte. In Gregory,  Gregory County was able to pitch a couple shutouts as they beat Lead/Deadwood, 12-0,  before they took down St. Thomas More, 6-0. Gregory County waits to see who they will play next Monday at the State Tournament in Sioux Falls at the Bird Cage. In Platte, Winner/Colome defeated Chamberlain, 5-2.  Platte/Geddes then defeated Winner/Colome, 2-1. Platte/Geddes waits to see who they will play next Monday in Sioux Falls at the State Tournament. At the Region 6B Golf Tournament on Monday, Wall won the boys team title with 298 points. White River finished fourth. Wyatt Larson of McIntosh was the medalist with an 85. Colbe Scott of White River was fifth with a 94 while TJ Beardt of White River was tenth with a 101. The Bison girls won the Region 6B team title with a 311 team score. White River was runner up with a 333. Allison Kahler of Bison was the medalist with a 90. Kelsey Morrison of White River was runner up with a 95. Kamri Kittelson of Jones County was third with a 98. Remedy Morrison of White River was seventh with a 111. At the Girls Pre-Region 3A Golf Tournament on Monday, Winner Area won the team title with a 388. Callie Weisbeck of Mobridge/Pollock was the medalist as she carded an 85. Rylee Root of Winner Area was runner up with a 92. Kelbi Meiners was third with a 93, Gracie Root came in seventh with a 99 while Brennan Bachmann rounded out the top ten with a 104.
