High School Track and Field took place on Tuesday. At the SESD Meet in Chamberlain, Ethan/Parkston won the boys team title with 128.5 points. Winner was runner up with 97 points. Platte/Geddes was third as a team and Chamberlain was fourth. On the girls side, Mount Vernon/Plankinton won the team title with 138 points. Ethan/Parkston was runner up, Winner was third and Chamberlain finished fourth as a team. At the Fort Randall Invite on Tuesday, Burke won both the boys and girls team titles. Kimball/White Lake was runner up both for the boys and girls. The Colome boys finished third as a team. In amateur baseball last night, Winner/Colome was victorious in their season opener as they beat South Central, 13-4. JJ Farner was the winning pitcher and also hit a home run. Reed Harter went 2 for 3 with three runs driven in. Austin Calhoon had three hits and drove in a couple of runs while Zach Harter had two hits and Derek Graesser had three hits.

In Track and Field from Friday, Cody-Kilgore won the girls team title at the Valentine Invite. North Central was runner up, Valentine was third while Winner fished seventh. On the boys side, Gordon Rushville won the team title, Valentine was runner up, Ainsworth finished third while Winner was fourth. At the Burke/Platte Golf Tournament on Friday, Dawson Hoffman of Platte/Geddes was the medalist on the boys side as he carded a 73. His teammate Brody Boltjes was runner up with a 75. Eli Fogel of Gregory was third, Bryce Frank of Burke was fourth. Gregory’s Kade Stukel finished eighth. Platte/Geddes won the boys team title and Gregory was runner up. On the girls side, Adisyn Indahl of Burke was the medalist with an 85. Angela Munson of Kimball/White Lake placed sixth, Callie Davis of Burke was seventh, Ashton Summerville of Platte/Geddes was eighth and Lyman’s izzy McNaughton was ninth. Burke won the girls team title. At the Stanley County Invite on Friday, Miller Jayce Pugh of Miller was the medalist with a 71. Kamrin Kittelson of Jones County was runner up with a 75. White River’s Karlie Cameron was third, while her teammates Kelsey Morrison and Remedy Morrison finished fourth and fifth. Winner’s Gracie Root finished tied for seventh while her teammate Kelbi Meiners came in ninth. White River won the team title.

Burke was runner up, Kimball/White Lake was third, Gregory finished fourth and Platte/Geddes was fifth. On the boys side, Platte/Geddes won the team title with 226 points. Winner was runner up, Burke came in third, Gregory was fourth and Kimball/White Lake was fifth. At the Miller Invite on Tuesday, Chamberlain won both the boys and girls team titles.
