The 14th annual Great Plains Boys and Girls Senior All-Star Basketball Games will happen tonight at the Barnhart Gym in White River. Doors will open at 5pm. The girls game will tip things off at 6pm. Halftime of the girls game will be the girls three point shootout. After the girls game will be the dunk contest, followed by the boys all-star game. Halftime of the boys game will be the boys three point shootout.

The Prairie Hills Golf Course in Mission has set their tournament schedule for the season. Their first tournament will happen on May 29th, as it will be the 8th annual Zondo Swalley Memorial 2 person tournament. They will kick off June with the Johnny Schmitz Memorial 4 person scramble on June 20th. You can find the entire golf tournament schedule for the season on our sports schedule page.

Full Steam Promotions will present the River Run of Destruction Demolition Derby on Saturday, May 22nd in Chamberlain. New this year, will be a three man team show. $300 entry fee and a limit of 16 teams. $8,000 payout guaranteed. The derby site will be off Exit 265. If you have questions, call Deb at 730 2331.

Track and Field was held on Friday in Avon. Winning the girls team title was Kimball/White Lake. The boys team title was won by Viborg/Hurley while Colome was fifth and Kimball/White Lake finished sixth as a team. Club Baseball took place Friday in Chamberlain. Winner/Colome was able to shutout Hot Springs, 10-0. In Parkston, Parkston defeated Platte/Geddes, 6-4.

In High School Baseball on Thursday, Platte was able to defeat Chamberlain, 14-0. Kelby VanDerWerff earned the win on the mound for Platte. Caden Foxley finished with three runs driven in. At the Mobridge Girls Golf Invite from Thursday, Winner Area’s Rylee Root was the medalist. Winner Area’s Kelbi Meiners was fifth, Brennan Bachmann was ninth while Devan Dougherty rounded out the top ten.

The South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Basketball games will happen this Saturday at the Sanford Pentagon. The girls game will get underway at 10am, while the boys game will tipoff at noon. Locally on the girls Blue team is Kalla Bertram of Winner and Kennedy Leiferman of Kimball/White Lake. On the girls white team will be Caelyn Valandra-Prue of White River. On the boys side, Brady Fritz of Winner and Kelby VanDerWerff of Platte/Geddes will play for the Blue team.
