The Prairie Hills Golf Course in Mission will hold a cleanup day this Thursday, April 15th. The Course will open this Friday, April 16th. They have set their tournament schedule for the season. Their first tournament will happen on May 29th, as it will be the 8th annual Zondo Swalley Memorial 2 person tournament. They will kick off June with the Johnny Schmitz Memorial 4 person scramble on June 20th. You can find the entire golf tournament schedule for the season on our sports schedule page.

The Bill Pistulka Track and Field Invite was held Saturday in Winner. The Winner boys won the team title, Valentine was second, Burke was fourth and Lyman rounded out the top five. On the girls side, Valentine won the team title, Winner was second, and Burke was fifth. On the boys side, Winner’s Brady Fritz won the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes. Winner’s Kade Watson won the 800 meters, 1600 meters and 3200 meters. Winner’s Aaron Monk was victorious in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. The Winner boys won the 4 x 1 and 4 x 2 relays. Valentine came away with first place finishes in the 4 x 4 and 4 x 8 relays. The Burke boys won the medley relay. Lyman’s TJ Moran won the shot put. Valentine’s Fletcher Larsen won the discus while his teammate Kenneth Shelbourn won the high jump and the triple jump. Winner’s Brady Fritz won the long jump. On the girls side, Valentine’s Isabelle Salters won the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. Valentine’s Becca McGinley won the 100 meter hurdles. Burke’s Piper Hanson was victorious in the 300 meter hurdles. The Winner girls won the 4 x 1 and 4 x 2, 4x 4 and 4 x 8 relays. Valentine’s Kailee Kellum won the long jump while Ellie Brozik of Winner won the triple jump.

Here are the results from Friday’s Class B Golf Classic that happened in Mitchell. Brody Boltjes of Platte/Geddes finished atop the leaderboard on the boys side as he carded a 72. Gregory’s Eli Fogel was runner up with a 77. Platte/Geddes won the boys team title with a 257. On the girls side, White River’s Kelsey Morrison finished atop the leaderboard with a 91. Adisyn Indahl of Burke was fourth with a 94. Howard won the team title with a 295.

The South Dakota Boys All-State Basketball teams have been revealed. Locally in Class A, Winner’s Brady Fritz made first team all-state. Chamberlain’s Drayton Priebe made second team all-state. In Class B, White River’s Joe Sayler made first team all-state. Kelby VanDerWerff of Platte/Geddes made second team all-state while his teammate Caden Foxley made third team all-state. Gregory’s Daniel Mitchell also made third team all-state.
